Papier mâché or paper mache has a long history dating back centuries.
Although the name Papier Mâché is French, the method was not adopted in France until the 17th century. The technique was originally used in the Orient as far back as 200 BC.
Today, many paper mache items are created in the villages of the Philippines. For decades, Factory Direct Craft has purchased paper mache that is handcrafted by Philippine families. FDC was founded in 1985 by a stay at home mother trying to earn extra money. The moon is amazing! It's really study and easy to craft with. You can get them for less on Factory Direct's website, but you don't have the convenience of Amazon. Either way, you can't go wrong with these moons.

So well made and a fun design. The eyes and lips on the face are simple but perfect. I little paint and glaze and you have a lovely piece at an affordable price. I love mine and I recommend.

Waited to write this review until I completed the project. Excellent product and highly recommend this paper mache moon. Covered this guy in many sea shells, small pebbles, wood beads and mother of pearl.
