Bought as a gift. I trust the brand and liked the colors. The packaging was folded and not preserved in shipping so I opened the set before gifting.

Il y a longtemps que je n'utilise plus que ces feutres PAPERMATE pour écrire.Ecriture "coulée" et non "baveuse".Et pour ce lot, le prix est incontestablement intéressant .....

Easily one of the best pens I have personally used. I am a freelance writer and I am constantly going through pens. One of the biggest reasons why is the standard ballpoint pen seems to get plugged up and is unusable after a very short time. I've noticed even ballpoints of the most expensive brand names do this each and every time. but not this one! the felt tip is a breath of fresh air compared to its predecessors. it writes extremely smooth right out of the package as well as each and every time I pick it up to write even after sitting for a while. I no longer need to scribble to "get things working".Another aspect I noticed almost immediately is how comfortable the pen sits between your thumb and finger. Absolutely no exaggeration when I say it honestly feels like an extension of my own hand. Colors are very vibrant and bold and never "run" like others.I couldn't be happier and I can honestly say with confidence that ill never have to shop for another pen again.

When I first got these four pens, they looked like any other normal felt tip pens. When I tried them out however, it was a different story. The color saturation on the paper is really good, but not so heavy that it bleeds through the paper. It took heavy coloring in one spot to get it to bleed through; and even then, it was very minor. The color on the page actually is the color of the pen it comes out of. The feature I liked best about these pens is the tip protector. I have used a lot of pens where the felt tip gets frayed or mashed down. With the tip protector that doesn’t seem to be happening with these pens. The writing is crisp and straight, and it doesn’t bleed. They are great pens to have for coloring or writing. The only drawback to these pens is that they are not for heavy coloring. They are best when used for writing and mild coloring.

Great tool for professionals, students, and household use. The colors were vibrant and eye catching, and when used for writing, very legible. The ink dried quick and never smeared or bled through, which is great to use for art as well. The softness of the felt tip allowed for an easy glide. Unlike other felt tip pens, the tip on any of the ones purchased has yet to fray on me. They do not dry out quickly or over ink. Great assortment of colors as well, makes for taking notes and signing papers just as professional as outlining or filling in a sketch. The barrel of the pens also have a smooth ergo-dynamic grip on them, allowing for long use, without hurting your fingers.

I saw that another reviewer is bothered by a quality change over the years but I have also been using these pens 10+ years and I still LOVE them. I have noted my observed changes in the product below.PEN CASING: The shaft and casing for the old set has a fluted barrel and a white holder for the felt tip. The new barrels are smooth with a clear holder for the felt tip. I thought I would dislike this change in texture at first, but I have not found it to affect my writing in any negative way and I still find them easy to hold onto. I actually really like the changes. I purchased the 16-pack with wallet case. I did not realize that "wallet" meant that it comes with its own reusable plastic holder. I have shown this in the images and I love this feature!TIP: The tip of my old set and new set are both medium thickness. The width is still very similar as you can see from the images.SATURATION: Since my old set is, well, old, you can see from the text I wrote that they are starting to dry out a bit (especially the olive one). But hey! 10+ years and I am so pleased that these have lasted this long! I am super happy with the new set. You can see from the image that they obviously makes a smoother and more saturated line than my old set. They feel smoother to write with as well. I am also a LEFTY, so pen smearing is an issue with graphite pencils, gel pens, and other types of inks that don't dry to the paper immediately. These pens provide no smearing and are colorfast to page as soon as I write with them.USAGE: I use them for note taking, calendar colorizing, old school letter writing, but mostly for drawing and creating custom typefaces for artwork and graphic design. Perhaps it just depends on what you need to use them for as to whether or not the change will bother you. For me, these pens are still my #1 brand. These pens are perfect and is what I was looking for 100%. I love writing with markers but I don't like how thick even the thin markers are, but love the bold vibrant colors. This pen is exactly that, the colors are true to the package, vibrant & fun (but they also don't bleed through the paper or smear which is even better), it writes thinner than the skinny markers but a tad thicker than a ball point pen. The part you hold on to grips well too, your fingers won't slide down the tip and get marked, it even has a little plastic guard at the tip of the pen to help keep it's shape as well as guard your fingers just in case they slide down or you hold it close to the tip. Not only can I write with this pen I also doodle/draw with it, which I like to do when I write letters. It's the perfect multi-use pen I've found... EVER. I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a vibrant marker like pen.
