The blades on these plugs are quite a bit thinner than the expensive branded name ones that I currently use on my boat. Although these will work as an adapter to a 50AMP 125V service inlet, they get hot at high current of around 25-27 AMPS. My boat is equipped with two 50 AMP services. These will be fine if you know your current draw to be lower than probably 17AMPS or so, but will get dangerously hot if you push the amperage to the available 30 from the shore-power or power post. They also do not bear an ETL, Intertek, or cUL mark which is generally required for things you plug into hydro electric services.

Was pleasantly surprised. These are cheaper than the other offerings. seem to be well made. I have used it all season with absolutely no problems. Will be ordering a second one as my boat has duel 50amp receptacles, but the marina only has two 30amp outlets. I wanted to see the quality of this adapter before ordering the second one.

Replaced one of the $220 ones that was accidentally dropped in the lake. Works just as well.. so happy I bought 2 of them!
