This is my second one, the first mortar stopped working which is very disappointing. I use it less than half a dozen time a year so wouldn't expect it to go bad

This makes hoisting the top off my jeep an easy task. I really enjoy the ease of which I can pop the top on and off. I use it for other things like heavy tools. It helps to load them into my truck. The remote control is awesome because its wireless and lets you stand at a safe distance.

I've used this twice per day for a 20 foot rise, load weight of about 300 lbs. (440lb setting) - both up and down, it has worked flawlessly. I have mine attached to a curve track with trolleys and swivel connectors (to make the turn in the track). When unloaded it supports lift hardware of about 20 lbs. continuously. The yellow safety "yo yo" (used for roofers - inertia safety line) is used if the breaking mechanism fails, cable brakes, or track falls out of the ceiling. Happily it has never had to deploy. As per the reviewer that called it flimsy, she is mistaken - perhaps she was looking for a thicker cable? I'm very happy with its performance and longevity.

I installed the 'control wired' hoist in my garage; my daughter's garage has a 17 foot clearance so I built 2 mezzanines in her garage and installed the remote control hoist; I like both but the remote is a 'must' for tall ceilings and it works very well; it was simple to do the initial code and connect. After my 1st install experience, I changed my installation and saved money; the unistrut connection fittings and other ancillary items can add up quickly to a significant amount. I installed Home Depot's ten foot 12 gauge 'superstrut' ($36) to the rafters, drilled individual holes into the superstrut using eight SPAX T30 plus star head, grade 5 screws (#14 x 3.5"), one per every rafter span (8 total). I drilled the initial hole small, large enough to insert the screw and then, using a slightly larger drill bit, I very carefully drilled a "slightly more" to "V" shape each hole (CAREFULLY LEAVING ENOUGH REMAINING METAL) and then installed the T star screws with their heads 'nearly flush' to the metal track, without this 2nd "slight" drilling, tje top of the steel trolley wheels will bump or 'nick' against the top of the screw head(s).I ordered (from Amazon) a pair of RH King 4- steel wheel roller trolleys ($81/pair), the superstrut from HD, and spent approx $10 for the SPAX screws (bx of 10 from Home Depot). (Note: any screw used should be grade 5). I also ordered (via Amazon) the Mophorn Cargo Net with hooks ($43). I inserted two 3/8 x 2 grade 5 bolts as "stoppers", one at each end of the superstrut "track" to stopthe trolley, installing them with two nuts/ea (& used loctite) using the/through the existing superstrut top oval slot(s) and installing them in the space between the rafters (one somewhere at each end of the track). Installing them in the rafter spacing allows the superstrut track to be installed flush against each rafter and not losing any 'lift' overhead space. Take care when making the "V" shape "drill-cut" (the 2nd add'l drilling for each hole...drill just enough to allow the screw heads to protrude slightly but leave enough remaining strut metal for safe anchorage to the rafter. I added construction adhesive to each screw threaded end before installation. I estimate any 'lost strength' in the strut metal is regained bythe increased number of screws securing the track to the rafters. The steel trolleyruns freely back and forth for 10', across the length of the garage. While the hoist can lift 440 lb, we limit our loads to under 200 lbs for margin of safety. (And never stand underneath a load when hoisting!) She mainly stores large totes with various Holiday decorations up on the mezzanines...plus sleds, bikes, camping gear, snow skis, etc. I am doing a bathroom renovation and storing the tub, sink, shower doors, toilets, vanity, etc. up on the mezz, lifting them down when needed. The toilet in the photo weighs 90 lbs.

Bought winch to power a lift in my warehouse. Versions with a wired remote just didn't have enough cable between the remote control and the winch. This has worked flawlessly so far. Really like being able to stand on the ground floor and operate the winch, which is located 20' overhead.

I bought this to use in aiding the removal and storage of my Jeep hardtop. It was without a doubt worth the money! Easy to install and appears to be great quality for my use. Powered right up, the remote (wireless) control paired quickly and worked perfectly.
