I use this at work because I have a 3 monitor setup with my desktop but still occasionally have virtual meetings on my laptop. I was getting annoyed with un-hooking & re-hooking the VGA cable between the desktop vs laptop. This switch solved the problem where I can quickly go back & forth between the two (as needed).

Perfect for connecting 2 computers to 1 monitor. I bought this after buying a new computer. This item is making it so much easier with setting up my new computer like my old one without completely copying my old hard drive.

I needed a manual switch to extend my docking station output to 3 monitors and still use one for another computer when I don't need all monitors. Initially this worked well for my needs, more recently I have found that when using the B port/selection there is what I would call a haze or double vision on the desktop. For example, desktop icons on selection port A will be crisp but after switching to B I can see a slight shadow or overlay of the same icon next to the original. Still usable at this point, and I continue to do so, but pretty annoying. I was past the return period when this developed, so I am hoping mine is a fluke and this may work for you because otherwise it is a good product.

I have an extra monitor that I use to extend the view of my desktop and work laptop. I bought this switch hoping to stop the (admittedly mild) annoyance of manually changing the connections on the back of the monitor.First round setup was promising - switch worked fine, but display settings needed to be reset. Did the reset to prior settings only to have the output from desktop connection turn into rotating colors which could not be corrected. Thankfully no permanent damage - just sending the switch back.

I used high quality vga cables but still the picture quality is blurry and one cannot use it for more than half an hour because it creates a lot of strain while watching the screens with this blurry quality. Other than that, the switch quality is poor and it has stopped after two days of use. The switches are not holding at their place. So buy at your own risk.

When I connect to my laptop with screen resolution 1366x 768 to common LED through this device, the resolution will have to be downgraded to 1024 x 768 to see the whole screen. If you set to 1368 x 768, you will loose the visibility of side parts of the screen and characters become faint. But when I connect to the monitor directly to the laptop, it is exactly mirror image of the laptop screen.So whatever promised on the pack “resolution : 1924 x 1440 “ is not really achieved. It works but screen goes out of the monitor with loosing intensity of characters.

the thing is i have 1 monitor 1 pc and 1 camera vcr so i need a way to use both of the players in one same monitor so this is exactly what i needed and i am satisfied

If you need a VGA splitter this works well. If I had any complaints I think the buttons are a little small.*UPDATE 2/27*I took this down to four stars because of a very odd problem that has only happened with this box. Once and a while the resolution of my laptop will change to a very large resolution. It's easy enough for me to change it, but the others who use this computer system won't know how to fix it. It only happens about 1 out of 10 times but it's enough for me to take the star down one.

The switch would split the monitor but it would blur the displays. I thought something was wrong with the monitors, so I checked them both and they work. I checked the other cables and they are all fine. As soon as I plugged my monitors into this they blurred. I threw mine away.The seller contacted me and told me that the resolution has to be the same. After fishing this out of the trash, cleaning it off and hooking it up, changing the resolution helped significantly. Very impressed that the seller contacted me and helped me out. I am not very pleased with my purchase.
