I was combining two different lamp parts and neeeded to bridge them to make a solid and sturdy column. This was perfect.

I have an old, antique chandelier that utilized a hard plastic hex coupling nut to join the main stem to the decorative bottom piece. The wires travel down from the ceiling into the top pipe of the chandelier, but then they branch out from the coupling nut in order to travel to the candle-style lights. The threads on the old plastic one eventually stripped, causing the bottom decorative piece to fall out. When I tried to screw in the pipe holding that piece, it went right through the nut and punctured the wires, causing a spark and resulting in a dead chandelier. When I took the chandelier apart, the old plastic hex coupling nut cracked apart. I purchased this product in order to have a strong, steel coupling nut that would not strip or crumble over time. I also purchased a new feed wire, since the old one had gotten punctured. This item was a perfect fit. I was able to easily feed the new wire through the top pipe, into the coupling nut, and out the side hole of the nut. The bottom pipe fit perfectly into the bottom part of the coupling nut, and my chandelier is as good as new.I've got 5 extra coupling nuts now, but at 6 bucks, this was well worth getting my chandelier back online again.

Ordered 6 but got 4. Not very good quality. We’ll see if the 4 will survive in the lamp.

I found a large Tiffany lamp someone threw away because the leaded glass lamp shade had broken off. All that was needed to fix this lamp was one of these special coupling nuts. The original nut, which is what connected the lamp shade to the lamp base, snapped in half. I replaced the nut and reattached the wires and now the lamp looks and works great.
