Bought these to bring a pair of 6ohm speakers to 8ohms so they could be run in parallel with another pair of speakers. Worked perfectly and the amp section of the AV receiver has the correct impedance now.

All available replacement speakers seem to be 4 ohm, Chevy ( in their infinite wisdom) used 8 ohm speakers in the rear doors, no where else, just the rear doors. My amp and complete system is factory and reading up told me using 4 ohm would work awesome, but probably fry the circuit incthe main unit. Most of you replace the head unit anyway, but I am pretty boring, using the factory radio and its features. Z71 2002 Chevy Suburban , same as a Tahoe, and the GMC versions. Anyway, I used ohm meter to test before and after. I added simple connectors to the resistors so it all was plug and play, there happened to be a mount point in the door for attaching this resistor to the door. So my point is, inline, on one of the twoxwores, this resistor turned a replacement 4 ohm speaker into an 8 ohm to match factory specs for a Chevy Suburban 2002. I am a professional tech, but this is an easy job. You can do this.
