The actual outer thread diameter (which is how screws are measured, at least for metric ones) is about 6.7mm, NOT 5mm / 3/16" as advertised. This is roughly equivalent to a #15 screw, or slightly larger than 1/4".(FYI, 3/16" is equivalent to a #10 screw. )Whoever is measuring these products doesn't understand how standard screw sizing works, either in the US or Europe.Also the threaded length is about 1¾". Which is better than most.It's surprisingly difficult to find eye screws in smaller diameters that work with most wall anchors, and also hard to find ones with more than an inch of screw thread, and really hard to find both.The threads on these are way too thick to use with most wall anchors, but it would be fine if screwed directly into wood.The quality seems decent.I just wish the sellers would put accurate and useful measurements in the description and photos..
