Because the furniture does not happen to be a flat plane, so the low points of cover will collect water and debris. It will shorten the lifetime of cover with time going.
We recommend you to put a wooden stick or round thing on the table to raise up the cover so that the water and debris can be flow down through the line.
The raised part also can provide airflow between cover and furniture. Helps the furniture cover and furniture remain dry.

Was so pleased with quality, fit and ease of this cover for our l-shape sofaset for our deck. So easy to put on fit was great and enough coverage to allow you to use the tabs to fasten at bottom of sofa to legs so wind won’t blow it away. Fits right over the sitting and back cushions on the sofa we have😄

The good - Shape and size fit perfectly for our needsThe bad - It’s 2 garbage bags thick. No ties in the corner or the bottom of the long side. Slides off during first snowfall.
