T-form metatarsal pads: t shaped metatarsal pads. Needs of the metatarsal area are often neglected. However, once problems develop, the pain and disability they cause can be as severe as those in the mid-foot or heel. T form is an orthopedic insert that assists the metatarsal arch to retain, or regain, its natural anatomical shape. Lifting the forefoot back into shape relieves pressure and the stinging, burning sensation that you may be experiencing. These symptoms indicate that the stress on your forefeet is leading to nerve damage and the collapse and spreading of the forefoot area. For active people, such as bicyclists, dancers, runners, tennis player, and others who use their forefoot and toes, t-form helps to prevent overuse injuries, and long-term problems from developing. Pedag makes several metatarsal inserts. Those with active pain and inflammation may want to use pedag drop, feel good, or galant until the inflammation subsides. These are also good choices for those without flexibility, or adequate fat pads, in their forefeet since they are substantially smaller then t-form. For information on which metatarsal pad is right for you, and where to place the pads, please look at some guidelines in one of the pictures above. T-form is made of vegetable tanned leather and hypoallergenic latex, with a self-adhesive backing. You know you like t-form, so save a little with this pack of 3 pair.

After a decade with the condition, two years ago I had surgery for hallus limitus in my right big toe (cheilectomy and first metatarsal osteotomy), which was remarkably successful at removing all my arthritic pain. The problem is that the surgeon managed to sever my EHL tendon during the surgery, so a few weeks later I had a second surgery to repair that (that was no fun to rehab from!). After all that my big toe is a little shorter and as a result pressure has transferred to my foot pad resulting in some discomfort. Over the last year or so I have tried various approaches to alleviate that foot pad discomfort and three of them have been successful, which I know use in combination: (1) Wearing Lems Primal Zen shoes (foot shaped); (2) Wearing Correct Toes toe spacers all the time except while sleeping and showering; (3) These metatarsal pads. I tried a few different pads, but these are the best and it's not even close. They are supremely comfortable. To get the right spot I left the backing on and secured them with some medical tape. It didn't take long to find the right spot for each foot - when you have found it you just know it because it feels "right". Then I traced the position with a marker before removing the backing and applying them permanently. I have them in 5 pairs of Lems now (I fell in love with Lems shoes BTW), in one pair for about 3-4 months and there has been no sign of them coming off or even an edge peeling up...they are not going anywhere. I recommend these pads without hesitation.

I use these metatarsal pads in every pair of shoes to help provide support for my feet. Nice leather, easy to place in my shoes! And the adhesive holds up a long time!

**UPDATE** These things are amazing if you’re suffering from plantar fasciitis. Wear them with a foot shaped or wide toe box shoes! SuperbI’m using these pads to allow my feet to strengthen and heal my plantar fasciitis according to the conservative care treatment recommendations of Dr. Ray McClanahan. They felt so funky at first but I really believe they are helping along with wide toe box zero drop shoes, foot spacers, massage, strengthening, etc. I’ve had PF for 11 months, but have only been implementing the above over the last 4 months. In the past my feet would start to feel better but then I’d do too much activity and I’d have to pull back for a day or two. Let me tell you, these pads really help. I walked/hiked 24 miles over 4 days last weekend and while I had some pain due to increased movement, I recovered much quicker and barely had any pain the next morning. If you know, you know that’s HUGE and a sign of major improvement. Good luck!

I use both Pedag T-Form and Pedag Drop (1) functions with footwear that has removable insole (2) can be installed / positioned above or below the footwear insole, dependent on user preference (3) I use a self-tailored fastener (cut, trimmed, and rolled, adhesive side out) piece of duct-tape, under the Pad, to temporarily position and secure the Pad. ( 3a) Tip / Top of Metatarsal Pad should extend marginally above the geometric plane at the base of the big-toe metatarsal capsule, extending horizontally across the ball of foot. Shouldn't be behind, and not directly under the metatarsal capsule (4) Once satisfied with the location of the Pad, I outline the position with magic marker, then I remove the tailored duct-tape fastener, and then I apply duct-tape over the Pedag metatarsal pad, to ensure it remains in desired position (5) effective aid to relieve pain associated with metatarsalgia (5) I developed metatarsalgia (second toe ) and upon installing the pad, experienced immediate relief, and resumed hiking and walking the dogs. (6) But, the Pad isn't a panacea - metatarsalgia can require reduced stress on foot, i.e., reduced activity ( I terminated jogging for 3 months ) - (7) the use of a metatarsal pad and insole with proper arch support, worn a majority of the day. (7) I placed in all my footwear (8) I installed it in a pair of old jogging shoes that i washed and cleaned, to be worn exclusively in the house ( I don't wear footwear in the house, but for this one exception ) (9) I purchased Pedag insoles - with built in metatarsal pads - for other footwear, to obviate the need to constantly remove insoles with metatarsal pads from one pair of footwear and insert in a different pair. I like the Viva Sport as it fits in both jogging footwear and casual footwear. I also use the Viva Outdoor in my hiking Boots. (10) Pedag T-Form was more comfortable for my feet than the Pedag Drop, ( but my feet adjusted and I use both pads effectively ) Seeking professional medical care is recommended, as the first response to any medical issue; in context to this review - a licensed , Podiatrist, and / or a Primary Care Physician.
