Tapered spring tension feature prevents the grinder from loosening with use. Do not use with salt. Minimum blank size needed to turn is 3" x 3" x 7". Make a matching Saltmill (PKGRIND806). Great pepper grinder. I used this kit while making a pepper grinder for the first time and it worked great. It comes with directions and diagrams to make building it easy. I was nervous because I bought this when the product had no reviews, but I couldn't be happier with it.One complaint, shipping cost is a little high. Most things on Amazon can be bought with free shipping so that was kind of upsetting, but the product itself is great.
