In so far as one can have expectations for a pipette, this one delivers. The measures are easy to dial in, tips fit great and are easy to eject. The plunging mechanism is well balanced and provides the right amount of feedback and resistance. I'm very happy with this!

We needed some new pipettes for our lab and didn't want to dig into our grant budget. These were priced right and came with the calibration certificates. Very light and low pressure required for use, which is good because we do a lot of microplates. The size and shape also are very comfortable, and I like the black color with the color coded plungers for the different ranges. I just noticed that they have racks that work with these and other manufacturers pipettes so I will probably get some of those.

Sure, you COULD spend $1,500 on a single pipette. Actually, if you're considering this one you probably CAN'T spend that much. The good news is that this budget-minded Per4mance pipette enables under-funded scientists such as ourselves to pursue understanding of the natural world through experimentation, unhindered by a lack of quality tools and implements.The serialized pipette came with a certificate showing its particular errors and standard deviations from when it was calibrated and tested at the factory, which was reassuring. The manual, while short, is thorough enough to explain pipette use, maintenance, and recalibration, though it doesn't mention what parts are safe to autoclave. The box contains a single tip (in my case a 10mL), a PCR tube with a glob of silicone grease for maintaining the internal seals, a calibration tool, and several replacement filters for preventing liquids from entering the body of the pipette.As a crude test of accuracy, I filled a 120mL, graduated, hospital-grade specimen cup with room temperature water, adding 5mL at a time. After dispensing the water 20 times, the line was dead on the 100mL mark on the cup. Not having a scale on hand with the accuracy needed to verify volume calibration properly, I nonetheless felt satisfied that it was good enough for my humble purposes.Would I use this pipette if I had millions of dollars of corporate and grant funding for medical research? Probably not. Does it allow the common man to credibly engage in the noble pursuit of scientific discovery? Absolutely. And for that, I love it.

All pipette functions perform as expected. That's good.The primary selling point for this pipette is that it requires less force to operate than other pipettes. Unfortunately, I don't have a force meter readily available for quantified comparisons. I can say, though, that I very often "overshoot" my intended press depth with this pipette. I'm accustomed to operating other pipettes. It'll take some time for muscle memory to adapt to the force required for this one.

I have used autopipettes for years and usually buy the Hach Tensette pipettes for work. I've decided to up my game on my lawn and have a need for precise liquid measurement for my chemical applications. This pipette works perfectly for my needs. I checked accuracy against my lab pipettes using a balance and had excellent accuracy and repeatability. I will have to reevaluate my lab purchases at work because these are only about a third the price of what we normally buy.
