I ordered the XL in this because my puppy is long and skinny and while the length fit perfectly, the girth was really big. To be fair, she hasn't reached her final form yet but even when she does she will be on the smaller side of the weight limit (11 pounds. She is currently about 9 1/2 or 10 pounds, so she's close to her final form.) It was pretty easy putting her in it - she was too confused to try to fight me on it - and once she was securely fastened in, I put it on with her in it and she just became even more confused. It is a very weird way of carrying a dog but it seems to work, at least in the short term while they remained too confused to struggle. The carrier is well made with lots of clips and belts and holders to keep puppy (or kitty) safe. We'll see how she likes it long term for walks and such because with her little legs, she does get tired near the end of our walks, especially when we walk with her favorite people, my grandkids.

Got this for my 4lb chihuahua. I like to take her rollerskating with me and usually use a baby wrap to keep her secure on my chest, but it’s not super breathable and we both end up covered in sweat by the end of a long skate (well, her covered in my sweat…)I’ve been on the hunt for something more breathable. This is one of two front backpack carriers I’m testing out— right off the bat this one looks like it will be a closer fit for my dogs size. It has breathable mesh panels on the sides, zips all the way open on both sides for easier placement of doggie, and includes a small pocket in the front for treats or poop bags. There is even a hole for the tail ! On the inside, there’s also a safety leash to keep pup securely inside.I’m not sure whether she will like sitting on her bum with her legs out as that’s a very unnatural position for a dog, but I’ll update the review once I find out!

My Yorkie hates it. The zippers do not stay up. Dangerous.
