I LIKE THIS PRODUCT BECAUSE IT CAME ON TIME AND WAS PERFECT FOR ME TO USE ON MY POMERANIAN. THERE IS A LOT OF HAIR ON CARPETS. I FIRST TRIED BRUSHING HIM BUT HE HATEDIT.

As anyone with a cat knows, a brush is only as useful as the level of willingness of the cat to sit still and let him or herself be groomed. For a short-haired cat with a nice shiny coat, it’s hard to get a grooming tool that will catch the shed fur and pull it out. But oh my god - these gloves - they are life altering. Done right (by the human), the cat sees it as getting loves and doesn’t run away. And the gloves themselves are SUPER effective. They get out SO MUCH FUR. Gobs and gobs. Cat is getting comments on how gorgeous her coat is. I cannot recommend these enough. HOWEVER - note - the glove does not work as well for my medium-haired cat!! He does best with a standard metal comb. So your mileage may vary depending on the type of coat.

(See bottom of review quick pros and cons)I have a 16yro female cat who has always been very independent and doesn't want help to care for herself in any way. She has always refused brushing and nail trim and always just groomed herself and chewed off her own nails as needed. Crazy but true! But in the last year she has been showing her age and I have to sneakily trim her nails now, and when this winter came around, her summer coat began to shed out and simply become matted in her new winter coat. She didn't clean it out as she usually does. I tried a regular cat brush to no avail, and she would kind of squirm away from the brushing in discomfort. I was trying to pet and brush away the matted fur, but it became worse daily.ORIGINALLY, I was concerned these glove brushes would be too harsh for her, too hard for her bony little body and just poke her too much in the ribs and around the edges of her chest etc.NOW, I can't rave about the brushes because they are not a miracle cure, but they DO work. I put the gloves on and very purposefully pet her and ensure that I gently and thoroughly pet her whole body and get into the crevices where she's matting so badly. After four days of use, brushing twice a day, I would say her matting has reduced about 50%. My son says my cat is becoming more fluffy again. I suspect with this continued brushing twice a day, her matting will be gone at some point, hopefully in the next week or so.I also have two younger male cats ages 6yrs and 7yrs. The 6yr, 16pound, very social male absolutely LOVES the brushing. When I pet him once with the gloves, he immediately hurries around my legs to make another pass for more brushing, and continues this until he becomes wild and runs around the house playing. He gets so happy! lol The 7yr old, nervous/skittish male of an average slender weight seems okay with it, like a regular petting. Both of these boys when I petted them the first time, after only the second pass of petting them from head to tail, they became INSTA-FLUFFY (for them at least because their coats are naturally sleek). They have young healthy coats, but I was still surprised how effective the brushes were. Within 30 seconds their brushing was complete, unless of course they wanted more. I should note that all three of my cats are american short hairs. The female has a fluffy, coarser fur, and the boys have sleek shiny coats. None of them have long persian fur.The biggest downside of these brushes that I've noticed is that although it's easy to remove the fur from the brushes, the hair goes everywhere. I go into a portion of my hallway where the fur it limited as to how far it can go or what it can land on, and I clap my hands together. The fur comes right off...and into the air...then onto the floor. I've tried other means of removing the fur but not effectively. So I brush the cats, clap the fur, vacuum the floor. I vacuum most days anyway so this just wasn't a deal breaker for me. If you can do the brushing outside (ideal), or in an area that you don't worry about vacuuming every day, it's worth it.PROS: -my elderly female cat doesn't run from brushing-my younger male cats genuinely enjoy the brushing and come back for more- the brushes genuinely work to remove fur-the brushes reach hard to access places on the body, like leg creases and tender thigh areas-easy to remove fur from the glovesCONS:- still must be gentle with elderly cat so as not to poke her ribs with spikes-fur goes EVERYWHERE when cleaning out the gloves-the velcro around the wrists is very loud and scares my male cats when donning or removing gloves

These gloves are extremely handy for removing the large amounts of fur that my 80lb collie-shepherd hybrid is constantly spreading all over my home. They're best used in conjunction with some form of spray -- I generally use a product specifically marketed for de-shedding, but I've also used dry shampoo and deodorizing products with basically equal success. The spray lubricates everything and helps the gloves catch loads of loose hair. And catch they do. During heavy shedding times, a 20-minute session with these gloves and plenty of spray easily collects a ball of hair the size of a human head. Just spray (heavily), then rub the dog down with these gloves. When using these, I go in all sorts of directions, fairly aggressively, which really seems to help as compared with some brushes that really must only be used in the direction that the fur is growing. The other nice thing about these gloves is that the dog doesn't seem to mind too much. She generally tends to bolt when I pull out the heavier wire brushes -- I think they leave her a bit sore -- but with these gloves, she just kind of hangs out and enjoys the massage.Only downside? The fur is slightly tough to remove once on the glove itself. But that's a fairly minor criticism. All in all, definitely recommended if you need this sort of thing.

Both my cat and I love these grooming gloves. They are excellent getting out fine hair and prevent it from taking over it off my carpet, bed, furniture, house and life. The cat doesn’t even mind them. He was a little concerned that he was being attacked by the terminator the first time, but after a few treats he quickly realized he was a fan of the multi-purpose pets (treats not included). I also appreciated that there were 2 gloves to allow me to work as a grooming ninja.

I tried these grooming gloves on our two kittens and our 16 yr old cat. The kittens were rather suspicious about it, and kept "ducking" away when I'd try to use it on them. In time I think they'll take to it, as our older cat thought it felt great! They fit well, caught the hair as described, and the gloves are simple to clean too! My only complaint is that here in the South, the gloves became very warm and sweaty, very quickly. I'll try them again in the fall and winter and write an update if I remember! Not sure of a way to make these cooler on the hands, but that would make the experience more pleasant for the owner! Overall, a smart product, and a good price!

This thing is amazing for double coated dogs. I have a Siberian Husky and this year has been a rough shed for her between the long, cold winter and then the very quick, hot summer arrival. I've used cheaper gloves here and there and they haven't worked even half as well. This one gets a lot of hair and fits my husband's very, very large, arthritic hand (which is relevant as his knuckles are very large and fit poorly in other gloves with finger slots) and my smaller, short-fingered hands. As my dog is not a huge fan of being brushed or staying still this thing is invaluable to us. We're able to really help her deshed and then clean her up quickly with a once over with a comb. On top of this she loves it because she thinks she's getting a great pet!My final positive - this one comes with two gloves. This means that my husband and I can either brush her together - each having a glove - or I can use two to run up her tail area, which is most sensitive to her. Either way, it's a great deal for a set of gloves and these are made well. I'm so pleased for this purchase. To explain the picture: this was mid way through the first shed of the season right before summer got going and just before Canada Day. I ran my gloves over her for 5-6 minutes and got that much without so much as a fuss.

Works well on our American Bully and my brother's lab X --- gets excess shed off and the dogs love being groomed. The only complaint is that it can be a bit tricky to figure out how to get the extra fur off (also definitely use it outside - it collects fur, but also sends it flying).
