For entrepreneurs who have to travel for work and deal with clients on the road, this is a perfect gift.Incredibly portable, it definitely takes up very little space. And the ability to print out receipts or invoices for clients while out in the field is so helpful.

Thermal doesn't print out clear, or the printer hardly has any ink. didn't know it was for that kind of paper

It’s been 2 days and I still have yet to successfully print out anything with this useless thing.Followed all the steps and directions for phone set up and computer. For IPhone: it connects and kind of lets you add pdf files to the app for you to print. The main issue it that that when I load the paper in, and press print, it makes the sound of printing but the paper doesn’t feed through. Tried every side and every way. Still nothing. For Mac book Pro: You have to install the drivers and give it access to WiFi??? Why does it need WiFi when we already connected through Bluetooth??? Any way the Phomemo app does not let me add any files for me to print. USELESS AND WASTE OF MONEYSounds like I’m going to need a refund for this, can’t refund my time wasted though smh.

This is a decent portable printer. Price wise though, it's a bit on the high side for what it actually is. With this being a "titanium" printer I was expecting a little bit more, but it appears it's just the name of the colour more than anything else. Having said that, it's not a bad product at all. This thermal printer actually does work quite well. It prints at a very quick speed and at a very high quality. It's meant for text, not photos. When used for text it is very clear. It's also battery powered and can actually stay powered on in standby mode for an entire week! It's just such a stark difference.. When my laser printer at home kicks in, my lights flicker for a second which to me indicates it's using a fair amount of juice as that doesn't even happen when a compressor kicks in. Meanwhile this thing can pretty much go a whole week on a single charge with a few uses while staying on the entire time. Pretty sure you'd be able to print HUNDREDS of pages off of one single charge. The other nice thing about it being thermal is that there is no need to buy costly and potentially messy ink or toner. This should be much easier to maintain than a typical home printer.I do love how lightweight and portable it is though, so I can actually take it with me on the road if I actually do need to print something out but don't have all the details before leaving home.Let's face it, we don't have the need to print as often as we used to. I wouldn't really recommend this for contracts if you need the document to last decades, though to be fair it really could be used for that purpose, just scan the signed contract for storage once signed and it can then be stored digitally. So why bother with large, clunky and expensive printers when we can just have these much smaller and portable units instead? Sure, thermal paper does cost more than regular paper, but when you're saving so much on ink and toner and if you don't print much to begin with, it doesn't really matter so much.Docked one star simply for the lack of value on this particular model, units priced at half of this perform just as well in my experience.

This thermal printer was a nice addition to our RV. We use it to print invoices and other important items while traveling. It's very small and takes up little room. It comes with USB cords and a charger. It takes quite a while to charge. If you let the battery go flat, it took 4-5 hours to fully charge it - so be aware when using it.Getting the paper started properly takes a bit of practice. You need to be sure that you insert it as straight as possible and then push it in a little until it grabs the paper and is ready to print. You need to download the control program to your phone and then connect with Bluetooth. This was an easy process on my iPhone and worked perfectly printing directly from the phone. While it's only black and white, it handled color with reasonable shades of gray, so it can be used to print web pages and have them show up in a readable format. The speed of printing varies depending on whether its just printing text or graphics. A dense page of color for example will slow it down quite a bit - taking about 15-20 seconds compared to about 5-10 for text pages.Setting it up to print from a computer takes a bit more work. After downloading the firmware from the website, I wasn't able to get it to be seen by our Windows 11 computer until I used the supplied USB-A to USB-C cable. Our computer doesn't have USB-A ports, so I needed an adapter. I tried using other cables, but annoyingly, they would not work.It would be great if the manufacturer designed this printer to work with regular USB-C to USB-C cables, especially if the original is lost or damaged for some reason. The printer ships with a few sheets of thermal paper so you can test it out of the box. It has a nice quality feel to it with some weight which is good to hold it still on a desk. The only cons were the special cable issue and the long charging time. Otherwise, this is a handy thermal printer which uses standard thermal paper available on Amazon here.

This printer is shockingly small! It's 2" wide, just over an inch thick, and 10.5" long. Yet it will print full letter size paper! It weighs less than a pound (14.6 ounces) and can run from either Bluetooth or cable connection. Charging is done via USB C cable. You get the printer, 20 sheets of thermal letter-sized paper (which is slightly warped to fit in the box), an outlet charger, and 2 usb cables.I tried this with two different computers. One was an old Dell that runs Windows 7 and is about 14 years old. The printer would not auto-install on that computer, but I was able to download the driver and install it that way and it worked just fine. That was fast and easy, and you can see the sample page I printed of text. I also did a photo sample; the grainy page is the printout, and the glowing page is the original image on the computer screen. As you can see, text is much better than graphics, but that's to be expected from a thermal printer and it's okay. I have zero complaints about the text quality.I then tried to get this printer working with a much more modern computer, a 2-year old Dell that is running Windows 11. Oddly enough, the printer overtaxed the USB ports every time I plugged it in, with the computer claiming to have a power surge. I could not resolve that issue. It's odd to me as this is a new gaming laptop that is designed to handle higher-powered accessories. So that one has to go by Bluetooth printing. When printing an image, the paper feed stopped once the image was done, even though the paper was not fed out. I resolved this by just printing a blank page, and it fed the rest of the paper out. (I suspect this was a glitch in my word processor, as the text page printed just fine.)Printing took about 15 seconds per page, and was very quiet. Quieter than a laser printer by a lot!As noted, this is a thermal printer. You will need to purchase thermal paper for this - do NOT try other types of paper as you can damage things that way. Thermal paper may darken by exposure to sunlight, so more geared to non-archival purposes and everyday use.The plus side is that you can print out documents ANYWHERE with this 1 pound device. I feel that ability is a good trade off for the limitations of thermal paper. And that would be the best use of this. Use a laser printer for home or office. Use this when you travel or when you need a backup. And don't forget to get some extra thermal paper!

This Phomemo Q302 is a pretty great little portable thermal printer that is severely hampered by the frankly awful sparse instructions and documentation it comes with. I'm a fairly tech-inclined person, so normally this isn't much of a concern but we're talking basic stuff. Howevever, let's start with the good here.POSITIVES:-Compact, lightweight, and very portable. I was shocked at how small this thing is. It's about the same size as the cardboard roll at the center of a roll of paper towel.-Includes a USB C-to-C cable, a USB A-to-C cable, and a USB-C charger brick that is fully certified cULus for use in Canadian electrical connections. It's a very good charger brick as it's 15W and capable of output at 5, 9, and 12V.-Battery-powered. You can charge it and tuck it into a backpack to bring with you, and the USB-C charge port means it can be charged via any computer, a smartphone with power sharing, or a portable battery.-No ink or toner. It's thermal, and uses specialty thermal paper.-Includes 20 sheets of (somewhat thin) thermal paper.-Includes a cloth carrying bag.-Bluetooth or wifi connectivity for smartphones and tablets (but not computers).COULD BE BETTER:-Entire exterior construction is plastic.-Inexplicably, it's not Bluetooth or wifi-enabled for PC. PC use requires it to be physically plugged in (and yet still manually turned on, more on that below). The driver is signed, was malware-free in my scans, and downloads from the Phomemo website rather than baked into Windows.-Requires a proprietary app on Android and Apple devices. Thankfully that's in the app store and generally seems decent.-The paper came tri-folded, uncreased, and was hard to straighten out. Would have been better as a roll.PLAIN BAD:-The instructions are too basic, and missing simple things, like clear explanations of the indicator lights, how to turn it on, troubleshooting, etc.-I spent more time than I care to admit trying to figure out why Windows said the printer was offline despite having one indicator light on before I realized that it does not power on when connected to PC. Then I had to deduce that pressing the power button is not enough, you have to hold it three seconds or so before the indicator lights frantically flash and then it is powered on. Same for off. This isn't mentioned in any of the printed documentation included in the packaging, through I eventually found it buried in what was a slightly more complete version of the same documentation that was downloadable from the website.-Whether the paper guides are adjustable, there's troubleshooting options, or a battery status warning I have no idea - because none of it is documented. While some products go to extreme lengths to cater to the lowest denominator, Phomemo has for some reason left huge holes in the information they do provide and omitted basic functionality. Even the app, which in theory has a spot for documentation, wasn't helpful because it was empty.Overall, a capable little thermal printer hampered by some really basic annoyances that should be easily correctable. Fix the documentation and give it a Bluetooth or wifi PC connection capability and its easily a 5-star product. Instead I'd consider this a 3.5, which I've over-generously rounded up to 4.

I am just amazed at this product! From first opening the box, to printing my first page, it has been a dream product!Stay with me here, because I have to comment on the packaging of this Phomemo printer. The box, the large “thank you” note, the quality of the materials - just to this point, you are left with the impression of a “top-tier” product! Think of an electronics manufacturer who markets their phones, tablets and laptops (among other products) and uses a lot of white in the packaging. This thermo printer reminds me of them. Presentation and quality of the highest order! The printer follows my amazement with the packaging. It is like a beautiful gem! Lightweight, sleek and sliver, I honestly can’t tell if the body aluminum or plastic. I suspect the latter. It reminds me a bit of the first laptop batteries, in terms of size. Quite long, not too thick or wide. And you can roll this printer over and over in your hands and not find a single sharp edge or protruding screw head.Let me speak briefly about the paper for this printer. Several reviewers have already addressed the issues around thermal paper, so I won’t repeat those points. However, I would like to comment on the quality of the paper. Not just the print quality, but the feel of the paper. At 300dpi, the text and some graphics are rendered very well. What really stands out for me is feel of the paper. It does not feel like the page has just come off a long roll of traditional thermal paper. That thin, waxy feel that won’t lay flat, regardless of what you do to it. At least, I have never found a way to make a page behave. The excellent paper for this printer is getting very close to that “paper look and feel”. One part of that too, is having the paper pre-cut. I fully intend to order up a standard stock size, as well as some of the smaller sizes, too.Operation of the printer was a simple process. I did have some trouble connecting through my phone only, but it was the fastest connection with my laptop, ever. That was very impressive! Some have mentioned the higher price as being a problem, but I disagree. The ability to paper print on the tailgate of my truck, just blows me away! I never dreamed of such a thing. But now, with innovative gear like this, I am completely autonomous for the office. The capacity of approximately 170 pagers per charge is far more than I will need, but it is nice to know that the possibility is there. You do have to be careful loading the paper into the printer, as there is no guide, just the marks on the lid showing you the left and right side. And you need to be aware of how the paper is oriented, in terms of getting the correct side of the paper into contact with the thermal head. The case provided is a simple cloth bag. It does not provide any protection but I always carry my laptop in a hard case. This printer is so small, it easily fits into my hard case. Problem solved. As well as storing the unit.Bottom line - this is really an amazing printer! Extremely portable. Literally print anywhere at anytime! For a person on the go, this could be a tremendous value!

This is a thermal printer which means you don’t have to worry about it but you do need to use special thermal paper. This paper has come down in price and is a little bit more available than it used to be. So it makes having this portable printer fairly feasible. You have to understand you’re not gonna get laser print quality with this but it makes a very convenient great on the go printer that you can carry with your laptop. Something you cannot deal with a laser printer .As long as you understand the limitations and you understand the needs of the special paper and you don’t have a vast quantity of things to print out this thing works as described. This one is less finicky printing multiple pages than others of its type but it’s also a little noisier. I didn’t mind.. I didn’t have any problem connecting it to my laptop but some other people had mentioned they did. I think you can also print through your phone or tablet. If you need to print on the road though your options are fairly limited and we so this is going to be what you’re going to use.The build quality is also better than comparable types of printers so I think this one is the one to get.

This printer is great for quick onsite printing. It's not going to replace a desktop printer but for printing on the go, it's fantastic. I have connected it to my Windows laptop, Samsung tablet and my Samsung phone. It is a thermal printer so you do have to use thermal paper. The only downside I see is, because it's thermal, prints can be damaged by heat or certain pressure. Overall, as a Realtor, I have found it very useful for printing disclosures, property details and notes on go. 2 thumbs up.

This portable thermal printer works really good. It is very lightweight and can easily fit in your bag or briefcase. The connection is quick and you’re off printing. This uses thermal paper to print on making it less messy than the ink. I like the portable, lightweight rechargeable printer.

The Phomemo Q302 portable thermal printer has been a fantastic addition to my setup! This wireless, inkless printer connects effortlessly via Bluetooth, making setup and printing a seamless process. Since it’s a thermal printer, there’s no need for ink or toner refills, which is a huge plus for both convenience and cost. However, it’s worth noting that it does require thermal paper for printing, which can easily be purchased through Amazon. The Q302 model is lightweight and compact especially compared to Phomemo’s previous models, making it easy to toss in a bag and take anywhere. The print quality is decent enough for quick labels, notes, and other small prints. It is perfect for organizing, labeling, or even adding a personal touch to gifts or packages. The thermal technology makes printing quiet. Although printing speed is slower than laser printer, it is good enough for regular tasks. Battery life has been solid, lasting through multiple print jobs on a single charge. The printer is compatible to both Android and PC devices, with official App to be available for download.
