Build quality is surprising great. Weighty steel Caps are 360 degree welded to the base of the steel shaker. The two cups solidly lock together with no leaking. Would recommend to anybody looking for a cocktail shaker.

Love the slightly beveled lip so that the two pieces are easy to fit together and to get apart. Nice weight and balance to it so that has a great feel when shaking. Well made so it feels like this product will also have a long life!

Bought this for Australia Day celebrations and made cocktails easy, weighted to help break ice and mix. Fantastic. It’s the go to appliance to get the party started. Quality and style that will last for years .

I've been using this shaker daily for months. It always struck me as perfectly fine, and I didn't think much of it until I visited my parents and picked up a shaker from a local store to mix drinks for them. The differences between the two are night and day. Perhaps the one I picked up out there was just a piece of junk, but where it failed really highlighted for me where the Piña model excels. Now that I see how good I had it with this shaker, I feel compelled to recommend it.Great Features:--Seals tightly with a good smack on the bottom of the smaller piece when set at an angle. I've never once shaken anything into my face with the Piña model, but the cheap one always seems to leak a little bit.--Releases very easily with the standard method for Boston shakers (hold with the larger piece on the bottom and with the top piece tilted towards you. Apply thumb pressure on the top piece away from you, and smack the side of the bottom piece. The top piece flips to the other side with a satisfying snap, and lifts right out.). The cheap one was extremely hard to release after finally pounding a good seal into it.--It's seen many cycles in my dishwasher, and has been completely unfazed by it.Some people in these reviews have commented negatively on the weight of the shaker. It is certainly heavy than the average, but I don't think it would be a problem unless you're shaking hundreds of drinks a night, and perhaps not even then. Either way, I'd call it a non-issue for home use.I've also seen comments about the bottom caps coming loose, but I have not experienced that. It seems as though the manufacturer has changed how the caps are attached, and corrected a previous issue. So there you go. It's a simple device, but perfectly fit for task.

I have tried several shakers before finding Piña and now I intend to replace all my shakers with Piña. They caps are tig welded with a nice tight bead, the steel is THICK, and they seal amazingly well while also separating easily. Other reviewers stating that they cannot be separated are locking them too tightly. Just nest together and a light tap before shaking and they’ve never opened prematurely, while still opening on demand. DON’T POUND THEM TOGETHER, if you have to pound shakers together they aren’t good shakers.I simply cannot overstate how awesome these are, next up is a polished set or two. I also own the bell jigger and LOVE it. It’s also tig welded with a very tight bead (looks like no filler/fusion weld). I’ll also be getting a few of the “slim” Japanese style jiggers, which appear to be one-piece.Bravo Piña, bravo.PS, you need to sell the Totem and accessories on amazon, and also make a 50cm version.

This is the second boston shaker set Ive ever used. I’m a enthusiast level home bar tender. The previous shaker was one tin - one mixing glass variety that i had gotten so you can see the drink while its being mixed. First of all, I realize that the 2 steel tin shaker is inherently a vastly better affair - far better seal and unlocking is a breeze. With the glass-tin combo the seal is nowhere nearly as good and it shows when you try dry shaking egg whites. The 2 steel tin thing is like a rock! Tried shaking some warm water in it for grins and while the old shaker would spray things out, this one stayed sealed. Next this specific make: Pina. Very solid construction and finish. Both tins are weighted and while Ive read reviews that suggest one unweighted tin makes a better seal, i had no issues. The shaker feels solid in your hand, easy to lock, easy to unlock, and look s really good too. Well done Pina! It’s a pleasure to see good craftsmanship and the results speak for themselves. If youre looking for a Boston shaker set I recommend this without the least hesitation.

I've been a hobbyist bartender for a few years now, and decided it was finally time to toss out my no-name brand, Walmart 3 piece cobbler shaker and get something that fit my needs a bit better. I set out looking for a classy, high-volume Boston shaker, and the Pina Barware did not disappoint. Now, I'll say this: a cocktail is only as good as the man behind the bar. Having a fancy, expensive shaker isn't going to make great cocktails. That having been said, it is essential to have the right tools for the job; you can't fully integrate some drink ingredients without giving them a good shake to emulsify them and bring out their flavors. What sets the Pina apart is its quality and its price. My first shaker - and Lord, was that thing terrible - set me back around 15 dollars in store. The Pina, in contrast to my old shaker, is made if thick gauge stainless steal, it's easy to clean, and it both seals and unseals extremely easily. Not once have I had leakage during a shake, whether dry for a sour or on ice.All of that is well and good, but what makes this shaker excellent for me is the weighted tins. The bottom of each tin is weighted a significant amount with extra steel. This sounds superficial at first, but stick with me. The tin has a weight to it that just feels great in the hand, and it doesn't take much effort to shake a drink well. When placed down, the tin is much less likely to tip or fall due to the weight distribution. And, being the over-the-top host that I am, I can toss this thing around with easy and make it do what I want, whether I want to flip it in the air, toss it behind my back, or some other trickery for the sake of showmanship, when tossed it flies predictably and consistently.I could not ask for more in a tin. If I ever needed another, because I know this thing isn't breaking any time in the near or distant future, Pina would be my first, last, and only choice. I'm sold for life.
