The led flame makes a very pretty accent light around our pergola. The grate shows that there are quite a few insects and spiders that it has taken care of, but it does not have the classic big zapper sound I remember from the plug in unit we had in our backyard while I was growing up. They also are able to stay lit from dusk to dawn at least so far this summer. Very pleased so far.

Used all summer long. Bought 4 of them. None killed a single mosquito. Honestly just an ambiance light. Solar charger works well.

To be clear, these are very very pretty. However, they do not work in the least, at attracting and zapping mosquitoes. My old school blue bug zapper goes off each night like a machine gun, but it was so unsightly, so i ordered these.The look and ambiance are beautiful. If you only want these for decoration, they’d be great.I removed my old blue zapper and put 2 of these on my lawn, 1.5 feet off the ground with shepherd hooks. They never zapped anything.I let them go by themselves for an entire week. Tonight, I unscrewed the bottom of each lamp, to check how many bugs they killed. There wasn’t a single dead bug in EITHER LAMP!!! All that was in them was some stray grass shavings from when the gardener came a few days ago.So, tonight there was still no zapping whatsoever. I brought out my old traditional blue-light zapper and set it on a stand right next to onr of these useless lamps. Guess what happened within 15 seconds.Zap, zap, zap, zap, zap…These are pretty, but useless. Do not purchase them unless you just want the flickering lamps for ambiance.

I’ve purchased these for two houses, and purchased another set as a gift for my mom. They’re cute, solar, and work! Our mosquito problem is much better!

I purchased these at the beginning of summer. A set of two arrived. One worked, one didn't. I returned for a new set, again the replacement arrived-one worked one didn't. Luckily, I hadn't returned the 1st set because I was worried that I would have the same problem. Good thing I did. Returned 2 non-working solar lights and kept the 2 working ones. OK. both worked for a couple of months, off to a good start. But then one the purple lights (bug zapper) feature quit working. Another month later, the second followed and no more bug zapper feature at all for either one. The flickering light feature still works on both. Overall, I feel these are quite pricey set for a product that may or may not work and doesn't fully work like it is described and expected.

The product itself works nicely (ligting up at night) but don't attract bugs and definitely don't kill them.
