I recently tested this new pickaroon against a different style that I already owned. This pickeroon weighs slightly more at 2lbs 13oz compared to my old one at 2lbs 3oz, and the difference is noticeable after multiple swings because I felt my arm getting a bit more fatigued while using this one, however the extra weight on this pickeroon seems to help it dig into the wood and hold on better. Initially, I was skeptical about the sharp, angled head design, thinking it might not penetrate wood as effectively as the sharp point of my older pickaroon. However, this one performed equally well in terms of penetration. The real standout feature of this pickaroon is its ability to grip the firewood when lifting the wood off the ground. The sharp angle significantly enhances its hold, preventing it from sliding off the wood - a common issue with my old pickaroon. The point on this pickeroon is a little more dull and flat compared to my old one, which is a plus for safety and it helps to keep the wood from rotating and sliding off the point as much. I also like the color scheme and the fact that the head is painted a bright yellow, making it easy to see when its laying down mixed within the wood pile. Given its performance, this pickaroon earns a full 5 stars from me and will be my preferred tool for firewood processing moving forward.

Awesome tool. Looks to be a reasonable price to me. This is my first pickaroon; I should have got one a long time ago. A simple swing takes a big bite into end grain and facilitates raising and repositioning some pretty big cut offs. I won't be with out it when pruning the many trees on the property for fire wood. I turn a Lot of wood bowl, and consequently do a lot of chainsaw work prepping logs for the lathe - I know I'll want to use this pickaroon - I'll have to discipline myself not to, as it will encourage splitting. Great for clean up and fire wood - wouldn't recommend for lathe and furniture wood.I was surprised by the weight. It is substantially lighter than I thought it would be. Magnet sticks to the head – steel. The handle isn't hickory or Chinese elm – looks like it might be some ash variety.Like it – 5 Stars

This is a great tool when working with logs or Firewood. It is very well-made and durable. It is a great tool to have for when you age and your back doesn’t let you bend over as well as it did in your youth

This item broke shortly after we got started. What a waste. Functionality would of been great but as you can see it didn't last long. Was using the item to pick up the wood after it was cut.
