I love this box of rags. The uses really are endless. The first time I used these was working on some plumbing issues in the kitchen and they were great to absorb water from the cut lines and to keep my hands clean and dry. I've also used them while cleaning in the kitchen and the bathroom. Since they are 100% cotton I pre-soak the really dirty ones in hot hot water, then wash them in hot water to get them as clean as I can. I don't use these for working on cars, but you certainly could, I just don't know about reusing them after having used them for automotive uses since that generally involves a lot of chemicals that stick around even after cleaning.

I am always looking for something that I can use to clean up spills. I actually used to go through paper towels like crazy. Between working on vehicles, cooking and just general cleaning it alwasys seemed like a roll would only last a short time. In reality, a paper towl roll really did only last a day or so. These rags have changed that. I can clean up spills and messes and usualy use these towels over and over again. I do not reuse the ones that I contaminate with vehicle fluids but anything else is fair game. You get a few sizes of towels which is good with me. I really dont notice it. The towels are absorbant, they can clean a lot and you can wash them. There really is nothing else that needs to be said. If you are looking for a way to reduce your paper towel use check these out. You will be happy you did.

I grabbed a box of these last week and so far love them in my limited use. My main project so far has been around sanding and staining plywood, and I used these rags for both applications (well, different rags from this same box).Job 1 was wiping the dust off of the wood after sanding. Its a rag, and did well at that.Job 2 was using a rag for applying stain. This worked best when folding the rag over a bit so none of the unfinished edges of the rag touched the wood; main issue was leaving behind a few threads from the rag if that cut edge was used. This happens with nearly all rags in my experience, so I had no issues with this method.Overall, a great box of rags that sound like they are supporting a great cause!

With a new puppy, and a couple senior dogs, we have the slightly more than occasional accident in the house. The go-to cleanup consisted of spray and paper towels. In an effort to try to reduce our waste footprint, we decided to try out the Pinnacle Mercantile 100% Cotton Box of Rags (5lb). These rags are good for absorbing spills, and are good for some spray-and-wipe tasks. I would NOT use these on car paint, however. At $30, I don't know if these represent the best value, but they are good stand-ins for paper towels in many instances, so they should be cheaper over time (than the alternative). Obviously, you'll have the ongoing expense of washing these, but that's minimal if you don't machine dry them. Also, it's good to avoid fabric softeners, as many of them will adversely affect the absorbency of the rags. Recommended
