I bought these for my 2017 Kia Sorento with the 2.4 GDI engine. You know, the one that has a tendency to blow out the bottom end do to oil starvation. Well it turns out mine blew a hole in cyl #1 and it wrecked the bearings and scorched the rods. I was on the hunt for a kit that had everything but couldn’t find it all in one place so I had to piece it together a bit. I found these rods, and I was skeptical because of there price. I took a chance anyways and ordered them. When they came in I found that they looked nearly identical to the factory rods. The bolts seemed like good quality also.During installation I was separating the rod caps and when I did a small chip came off one of the rods where they were “cracked”. These are a cracked cap rod versus a machined end so I knew that the finish wasn’t a clean break, but it shouldn’t have any pieces falling off. I was a bit nervous but the rest of it seemed solid and I chalked it up to manufacturing tolerances. I was also on a time crunch to get the car back on the road so I kinda had to use them.Everything torqued down to specs just fine and there was no binding on anything’s when installing the pistons to the rods. The crank rotated smooth with everything installed. We have put nearly 20k miles on this engine rebuild and it’s running great.My only qualm with them was the small piece that chipped off one rod and that’s why I docked a star.
