Easy to install replacement head. Works way better than the duel-head.

I used this to replace the head on a battery pump that had the bare minimum. Installation was a breeze! With the screw-on compression fitting, all I had to do was cut off the old one.It holds its own on the pump side, and doesn't leak at all on the tire side. It also has a very satisfying feel when locking down.Good, sturdy little pump head, and at $7, I will definitely be buying another for my standing pump.

We have an older, very high quality Serfas bike pump and the pump head was failing. You can't find original parts anymore. This Planet Bike head fit perfectly. The mounting barb is the same size as the original and even the mounting cap was the same thread size, so I didn't have to trim the end of the existing hose -- I was able to just screw the original cap on to the new head (the Planet Bike unit does come with a connection cap). The head's flip lever is lightweight metal and the universal, single valve hole really does handle both presta & schrader valves. I have long stem prestas on my racing bike, and you simple push the stem farther in to activate the presta connection! NOTE: When removing any valve head from a presta valve, there's always a quick gush of air. That's the air pressure left inside the hose, not air coming from the tire. 10 Stars!!

Installed very easily in a couple minutes. Put it on a air pump I bought at a thrift store which didn't work because of the nozzle head. Bought this hoping it would fit and it did perfectly. Better built than the original. As a side note, why do people donate items to a thrift store to sell that don't work. If they don't work throw them out, fix them and keep, fix them and then donate, don't donate a non working item to unload on someone else.

I love this head, I only have used the Schrader configuration but it will do Presta valves. The leaver is really grabs the valve head in a very positive way. I am very impressed. Oh and it was super easy to add to my pump.

I bought a Planet Bike floor pump many years ago partly because of their reputation for reparability. For a long time, I had trouble with the old head, which had two separate holes for presta and schrader valves and would frequently get "stuck" pushing air out of one hole when I wanted it to come out of the other one. After a couple years of dealing with that issue, I finally decided to do something about it. Enter this little guy.Replacing the old head was as easy is unscrewing a plastic fitting piece and pulling out the old head, then pushing this one down into the hose and re-sealing the fitting. Took less than a minute and I have a brand new, super sturdy head with a single hole that promises to be much better than the old one!

My OEM pump head started leaking after years of reliable service. I took it apart, found the problem, and realized the manufacturer didn't make a rebuild kit. Not knowing anything about bike pumps, I did a bunch of reading trying to understand whether I needed a head, head and hose, or a whole new pump.Oddly, I didn't find much useful information online, so let me tell you what I learned empirically during this process:1. The heads have a barb that fits inside the hose, and a compression nut to hold the hose snugly to the barb2. The hose and barb seem to be standard sizes3. Therefore, you can use one brand of pump head on a different brand of pumpI don't know if this is universally true, but I've used three heads, from three different manufacturers, on the same pump (Topeak Joe Blow Sport) and they've all worked.Of the three heads I've used - OEM Topeak, SKS Racor, and this Planet Bike Auto Head - the Planet Bike is the best (assuming it lasts). The reasons I like the Planet Bike Auto Head are:+ One hole - The single hole works on Schrader and Presta valves, without having to flip any internal parts around. I'm not sure how the magic happens, but you just press the valve in as far as it'll go (Presta goes in a little farther), flip the lock lever, and start pumping. I was skeptical at first, but it works great.+ Minimal leakage - Very little air comes out when disconnecting, which I appreciate when inflating the tires on our road bikes (i.e. low volume, high pressure).+ Relatively small - This may not matter on adult road/MTB wheels, but it's a help on my kid's 20", 48-spoke BMX wheels that have little room around the valve stem.+ Seems sturdy - Although it's mostly plastic, the head feels sturdy. Compared to the SKS (middle in photo, which only lasted 1 month) it's noticeably heavier and locks to the valve more firmly.Out of the box, this is a 5-star purchase. Time will tell if it stays that way.

This was to replace the pump head for my Topeak JoBlow. Installation was a snap and the pump head works great. It grips the valve stem real tight (I pretty much only use presta). No fussing with a 2 head design or fiddling around trying to find the correct dual lock position. Slips right onto the valve, locks quick and easy in one position, and just as easy to remove. I may buy another for another pump I have. As to the issue brought in other reviews not having the hose insert. Mine did come with the hose insert but the original packaging was ripped (as if it was added later) and then put into another bag. I have no problems with that, it works but it might explain why other's may have had problems. ? ? ?

This is a really solid quality part and works perfect on presta valves, but I have a stupid bike setup with a schrader on the rear wheel and presta on the front, so I use both.I can't figure out how to get this working reliably on a schrader valve. It fits over the valve just fine, but it seems like nothing is pushing the pin on the inside to open it to be filled, so it just pumps air into nothing most of the time. It might just be user error, but this isn't exactly a complex operation and I've had no problems with other pumps. I've managed to use it successfully about twice after a long period of messing with it, but I have no idea what I'm doing that makes it work, so it's pretty frustrating. If I could figure it out I'd give it 5 stars.
