The notched opening is 8" long by 3" wide so it will slip past the pvc discharge pipe. These are made from blow molded plastic, and the surfaces may appear uneven, rough or scratched, but it is the design of this product. These are brand new from the manufacturer in the USA. All returns may be subject to a $8 restocking fee.

It turns out, my sump pump didn't have a cover when I purchased my home, so this was the perfect item! It seems durable and well-made. I like that it is lightweight and easy to install and remove.
