It downgrades your pvc pipe’s lifetime warranty, rather to use pvc cement like a pro

The storage case is good quality and I liked that it was actually made out of metal. The assembly of the parts onto the plastic pipe welder was easy and straightforward. I was puzzled to there being a mounting hole on the front of the heating plate (There is an extra bolt provided for this hole but no additional welding heads). I guess it’s just another option that you are given. The coating on the welding heads was partially chipped off on some of the heads and I had some of the coating come off when the welding machine was in operation and when inserting and removing the plastic pipes off of them. It wasn’t too bad and it didn’t affect the performance of the welding process. The machine didn’t take too long to heat up and I like having a temperature control as well as a digital readout. I haven’t used this too much but for the time I did, it worked very well and I didn’t encounter any problems. The plastic pipe cutter operated well and cut the pipe with no problems. I was glad that it was added to this kit. I am very happy with this kit so far.

I've done quite a bit of PVC pipe plumbing with the traditional glue method. I frankly wasn't even aware of "welding" plastic pipes until I saw this, but I thought I would give it a try.I was surprised at how quickly and easily this worked. Insert the male and female connectors to this device at the same time and they will heat up. It does take a little bit of force to get them on, but they do go. Pull them off and push the two plastic pieces together and they are now melted or welded together as one. You will never be able to pull them apart. Of course, it's highly unlikely you'll unglue two pieces of plumbing either. Now, for the downside to this. It doesn't work for standard US sizes. The dies included are all metric and do not align at all with the US sizes. I did have one scrap pipe it fit (a non-US size), and it worked quite well. However, I later went back to do some more pipe fusing to find that it wouldn't work on any of my other pipes. They are all either too large or too small for the welder. Standard US sizes are in inches, like 3/4", 1", 1.25", etc... It's difficult to find replacement dies with imperial sizes and the few that I can find are individually more expensive than this entire device. Which does show this device is at a good price point, but frankly it's not usable in the US without replacing the dies.

Once you get the hang of it, it is really easy to use. You can easily join plastic piping together to make a strong weld. Not perfect to use in every join location, but definitely makes things easier and faster.

Will save me a lot of leaky joints. I set to 300C, used a 20mm cup on one side and a 22mm cup on the other. Stuck the nominal 1/2 inch black polyethylene tube ends in from each side, counted to 5, removed them and mashed them together. The joint is immensely strong. Nothing I could do to make it fail.

Definitely a must have for diy plumbing jobs. Works perfectly and super easy to use.

This is not a bad PVC welder, it could be better. It does what I needed it for but not sure of the durability for extended use. There are 3 die heads and they are metric, so make sure you have the size you need for your project. They also dont seem to be very durable, they started peeling after 1 use, I was surprised, I can understand that over time things will wear but not after 1 use.It did weld the pipes perfectly, it does heat up quickly, which is great. I just wish that there were dies that were not metric and that it did not start chipping right away.
