I didn't like that it was plastic, and used tiny little screws to put together. It was cheap, and was way too expensive. I purchased from an auto parts store that was metal, built a lot sturdier, and was only a couple dollars more. This still doesn't change how I feel about Amazon. Amazon Rules, and will always be the only place I go for what I want and need!!!!

I was THRILLED to see that this Ford hitch cover was a Ford-packaged product! It's cast aluminum and comes disassembled so that the bubble pack fits in your mailbox. It comes with screw-on hitch fittings for both the standard size hitch and the little mini one as well. I read several buyers that posted onto this thread reported that the nice blue & white paint job flakes off and/or fades relatively fast within just a few months regardless of sun, rain or snow. So the first thing I did was to buy a spray can of "clear coat" from the auto parts store and put on three light coats right away. I'll let that cure for about 48 hours and I'll spray on three more after that. With 6 good coats of clear coat, that should protect the paint job nicely.

It's no where near the Ford blue emblem on my truck tailgate. It's a nice fit and size though. I decided to paint it black. Looks great considering the trailer hitch is black anyway.
