These playing cards are well-suited for magic tricks, featuring discreet markings on the back that are surprisingly easy to learn and recognize. While the markings are subtle enough to go unnoticed by the uninitiated, they become quickly apparent with a little practice. These cards are normal size, and are good for performing magic tricks and entertaining family and friends. At just $12, these are a good value. They could pay themselves off in minutes used right, just don't cheat your friend for too much money...

I got this deck to supplement my close-up magic act. After I perform a few coin tricks and then card tricks, this deck comes out and I have the spectator take the deck, pick any card and hold it in front of me. I then tell them that this deck creates a special bond between whoever is holding its card and me, the magician. The bond is so powerful that it allows me to connect telepathically to the holder and know which card is in his or her hand.I tell them to concentrate on the card, or this wont work. I then lean forward and read the back of the card and then stare at their eyes for dramatic effect and then shout the name of the card, which scares them a bit, but is really effective for a small group of people.the cards are a little smaller than regular playing cards. Also, they have a weird design and color. I wish they were adapted from a standard Bee, Bicycle, or Hoyle card design to better blend with the other decks I have for my act. To get around that, I make them seem old and pull them out of a velvet pouch for effect.the marks are very subtle, so subtle that I have to get very close to the card, just to read it. This sucks for me to read, but it also makes it more difficult for the spectator to figure out how I read the card. I always let the audience examine the card and they have not figured it out yet. But it is hard for me to read and I have made a couple mistakes so far. I just blame the spectator and tell them to concentrate harder...

Just fyi, these marks are NOT that easy to identify, which can be a good thing if you're trying to be sneaky. But if your eyesight isn't great, you'll give yourself away squinting at these cards for too long, trying to tell which card it is. The quality is fine. Kinda on the small side, but has the glossy yet textured finish I like the feel of. The art is basic; the big draw here is the hidden markings.

These marked cards have a subtle clue in the corner that tells the magician the suit and number of the card. It is not easy to spot, and will take time to spot on sight. But within a short time, even a child magician can learn to read the back of these. I appreciate that it was not easy to spot. The cards are slightly smaller than a regular deck. Please note that the instructions are on one of the cards (we did not know that and were able to locate them as well on the store page). Good for any magician lacking in a marked card deck!

Small deck (NOT poker size), A tad rough for easy handling. Markings are cleverly hidden in plain sight, easy to consistently read with a little practice. Great for "mind reading" routines. I think they're a little pricey, though.
