Work well for less than 2 years. I used a timer (1hr one, 1hr off) to prevent burnout, but ultimately it didn't last much longer than most of the other bad reviews noted.

I wish I could have used this right out the box, but I have to go buy additional parts to use it. The hoses it comes with don't fit very well. When I took it out the box, the hoses were melted together and super flimsy. Getting them to fit on the shunt is next to impossible.I was able to power it on and test it otherwise and everything else works.

Even the smallest unit (18W) produces a huge volume of air through the six included air stones.The kit includes plenty of hose to divide into six equal lengths for the air stones.I mounted the pump inside my garage and suspended it from two small bungies to further dampen the noise -- I cannot even hear it outside the garage over the gentle trickle of my water feature. Only the larger feed hose goes through the garage siding to the 1 x 6 manifold to the hoses and air stones.The only thing not mentioned until reading the manual is that this is not a 100% 24x7 duty cycle pump.They advise to cycle the pump off for 30 minutes every 8 hours (in summer).I used the pictured inexpensive switch (ASIN: B012FSL2GK) to turn the pump off according to the following schedule (actually 7.5 hour duty cycle):12:00a -- OFF12:30a -- ON08:00a -- OFF08:30a -- ON04:00p -- OFF04:30p -- ONNow I have a perfect solution and my fishes are very happy.
