After only 4 months of true active duty we get nothing but a flashing light. There is no debugging on the console that I can find to diagnose the issue. I have a pool cleaning service as well so the pool isn't that dirty. It's mostly dealing with pine needles. Usually it takes at least 2 cycles to clean the pool when functional. My guess is that a surface skimmer might be a better investment and a pool vacuum.

Seven years ago I researched these for my sister and recommended this one. Seven years later, still running. Now that I have a pool, I bought the same one. Works perfectly, especially the water line cleaning.100% recommend.NOT a solicited review.

Mechanically the vacuum cleaning unit is exceptional. Follow the instructions as in the owners manual and it finds all corners of the pool without winding up the power cable. Does a decent job cleaning my 20x40 inground after 2 cycles. I've a vinal liner, manual says to put the grip intensity indicator on setting 3 as I did and found it to be correct. So their R&D dept. is doing their due diligence. Now my issue....In my opinion, the first several inches of the power cord is not durable enough, and will peel off enough to expose the inner wires if the transport caddy, which holds the power unit, tips over. Bottom line is poor positioning of the power cord to control unit! That flaw is why my overall review is a 3, not 5.

Purchased this in March. We opened pool in June. Used it once and it worked fine. Second time vacuum won't move. Called customer service and finally got a response saying I couldn't use an extension cord? Since the power cord is only 4 ft, it is impossible to get vacuum to pool. I did try this and it still didn't work. Since I purchased in March, I am not eligible to return. I have emailed customer service and was told it would take 1 - 3 days to respond. So I have a pool that needs cleaning and have a $900 vacuum that doesn't work.

Bought a year ago and did not give rating until I had a full summer of use. Works great. Climbs the walls, cleans the bottom of the pool, easy to clean and store. Would recommend.

Overall I'm happy with this robot. Very easy to use, works quickly and gets 90% of the dirt. Like all robots, you shouldn't expect a robot to completely eliminate the need for a real vacuuming once in a while. I do recommend this one however.Pros- Very easy to use- Long cable- Cable easy to detangle when needed- Cleans well enough (see cons)- Clings to walls well and does a good job scrubbing water line- Easy to clean the filter.- Comes with a caddy which is really convenientCons- Doesn't do stairs. It climbs the first stair, but it too large to fit on the stair and just gives up. Wasn't expecting it to be able to do stairs, but would have been nice.- Random cleaning. I sometimes misses areas, especially corners.- Where the floor meets the wall gets vacuumed, but it does leave a trace or dirt. I guess when it gets the the wall, it starts to climb and the suction moves away from the bottom corner too much. Wish it spent a bit more time scrubbing the bottom corner before it started to climb. That could maybe help

This pool cleaner works very well. It climbs onto sun shelves & steps without a problem. It is important to make sure all of the air trapped in the unit is out when submerging it in the pool, otherwise it loses traction for climbing efficiently. Other than that, it works perfect and is easy to care for.Its now 6 mos later, I have used the Polaris every other day with NO issues! This product seems bulletproof. It cleans extremely well, the filter is easy to lift out & clean, and the unit is virtually maintenance free. I love a successful time & back saver!Take care! I'm back to lazing in a clean swimming pool.

I love everything about my new Polaris pool robot. It cleans both the walls, and the bottom of my vinyl pool with great ability. The mesh filter is easy to remove and clean off, and I love that it came with its own caddy to store and wheel around. The one thing that I would change however, is the way the power cord does not rotate to keep itself from getting tangled. This is especially a problem when you are trying to loop the cord up, and hang it on the hook on the caddy. It is a huge pain in the neck, and the cord will not stay on the hook. The only way I have found to make this manageable, is by unplugging the end that goes into the control pad to allow the cord to spin, as you loop it. Of course, that end is the thinner, and more flimsy end of the two, and there are 3 very thin pins that plug into the console. I don't see the plug holding up well with the constant plugging and unplugging that will be done all season long. I guess we shall see.

I deliberated for months, reading all the reviews from professional pool installers, equipment reviewers and obviously from purchasers. I chose this machine because of the price point and also functionality and purchaser reviews. This machine has not failed to deliver. It climbs the walls nicely, cleans all the way to the top step and does it quickly and efficiently. It is so easy to clean the filter afterwards too. It come with a storage trolley and does not weigh too much.I would certainly recommend this unit.

This thing works great and I never have to brush the walls as of now. There are 2 things wrong with this product that needs to be fixed. The first thing is the cord always tangles and does not allow the polaris to move around the pool. So u gotta keep a eye on it and untangle the cord every once in awhile. Also the brush is so slow compared to others I have tryed it barely spins so it doesn't really scrub more like wipe. Other than that it's a good product just needs those things to be worth the price but without that fixed it's only worth about 400 to me

I'll be honest. I wasn't too happy with the price of this unit. I thought it was too expensive. However, all those thoughts started to fade away when I put this puppy in my pool and let it rip. My old robot had done an admirable job, but wasn't up to task for this season, (it broke). Rather than fix it, I chose to get this new unit. My pool was filthy when I put the Polaris in. After an hour and a half, I'm not going to say the pool was sparky clean, because it literally was a cesspool before it went it. The filter basket was full of gunk and there's no doubt that this unit was working hard to do its job. After cleaning the filter and letting it do a couple of more cycles, it had cleaned the entire bottom and sides of the 40 x 20 pool. No more visible algae or green crap on the bottom & sides of my vinyl lined pool. All the evidence that it was working was inside the super easy to clean filter basket. It also comes with this nice little caddy where you can put it after its done its work, coil up the 50ft cord, and put it away in a pool house, or in the shade.I did my research on this unit before buying it. It appears to be easy to get parts if needed and it also comes with a two year warranty. I went ahead and bought the extended warranty from Asurion for another two years. So my almost $1000 investment in the pool cleaner is protected for at least four years of worry free operation. Lets hope I never need to use the warranty and I do, that its in year four! ;-)
