Probably better for scaring someone off… it doesn’t seem that bad when used on one self… but it makes a loud enough noise most people will not want to get zapped by it…

Serves its purpose to deter, sounds more scary than it is. Good for hiking, running, but I doubt it would stop anyone if they want you bad enough. Still pleased I bought it though.
