Polymix PX.4001 is a one-part, very fast curing, polyurethane elastic adhesive and sealant designed for industrial assembly and car body construction and repair. It’s known for its outstanding high-build properties, which result in a perfect viscosity for sealing and bonding. Thanks to its special formulation, it is completely odorless. The product can be easily brushed and tooled in order to match the original mark and give original equipment appearance to the seam.
AREAS OF APPLICATION
Polymix PX.4001 is suitable for seam sealing like welded seams, overlapping panels in all internal vehicle bodywork and painted sheet metals which includes the reproduction of original brush marks, simple and demanding bonding as well as for vibration reduction and sound deadening measures in car body repair and car body construction. Suitable substrates are metals, metal primers, paint coatings, and painted plastics.

The surfaces to be treated should be perfectly clean, dry and free from dust and grease. It is advisable to carry out preliminary adhesion tests on the support. Pierce through the protective membrane in the front threaded section. Screw on the plastic nozzle and cut it at an angle according to the desired bead thickness and profile. Fit the cartridge into a manual or pneumatic air operated gun (provided with telescopic piston) and extrude the adhesive.

I usually use the AC Delco seam sealer tubes, but for this the price was right and I didn't have too much to finish so I figured I'd give it a shot. It's usable, but very tacky to itself and to the surface you apply it to. I saw a lot of hanging strings I didn't see with my usual brand, instead of going on like a paste kind of just went on like really thin caulk. Just made it more difficult to spread and even out because it was very sticky immediately after application. It got the job done, but I think it's too thin and sticky to apply well and not make a mess.

The material is of good quality. It didn't fix my leak but I don't believe it is the fault of the product. Polymix went on well, it definitely is fast curing so had to work quickly. Pre-cleaning is important but it seemed forgiving, especially since I was working on trunk seams that aren't visible. All in all I'd say go with 3M products if are working at a body shop or are sealing up a critical leak area, but for older cars where there will probably be future work needed anyway I think it will hold up just fine.This wasn't important to me but it was not odor-free. It wasn't what I'd say strong like an airplane model glue but what I call odor free is like what regular caulk is.

Used this to seal the new floor pans I replaced on my 1962 ford falcon , easy to use and exactly what I needed to n m she sure the seems are water proof
