Product Description

HDPE Plastic Welding Rod
Welding rod profiles and plastic welders

Polyvance's High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) plastic welding rod is made in the USA. We offer many different colors to better match the plastic you are working on. We also have several welding rod profiles to get stronger welds. Not only that, but Polyvance has our plastic welding rods packaged on many convenient sized packages. So, whether you are a do-it-yourselfer or a heavy user of plastic welding rod, you won't have to worry about having to buy more than you need.

High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) is used in many different applications in both automotive and non-automotive pieces. It has a waxy feel, like low density polyethylene, but is stiffer and less flexible. You can find HDPE in fender liners, windshield washer bottles, and overflow tanks in automotive applications. In non-automotive applications, HDPE is used for ATV fenders, gas tanks, kayaks, canoes, playground equipment, and more.

  • Works with airless, hot-air, and nitrogen plastic welders.

I purchased these rods to repair a green lawn tractor hood. No mater how I tried to use them the green rod turned brown when heated and made a mess. I ended up painting the hood after.

Terrible rods I dont even think that they are high density polyethylene even at low heat would char and burn would not stick to anything and ended up haveing to use a 5 gallon bucket for makeshift rod cause no matter what I tried could not get these rods to work at all would definitely not recommend this rod to anyone

I should of looked twice before I bought it. I have an account at Grainger I could have bought these at 48" lengths v. the 12" length and cheaper too.
