Very nice addition to a big pool. My mom loves it. Sadly, it doesn't eat birds or frogs like a real alligator. And it doesn't bite people that would try to skinny-dip when you're asleep... you're gonna have to do that yourself.

It looks pretty good and does the job. But does not float very straight. I’ve checked it for holes but it is not taking on water. So just is not balanced well.

Looks good, delivers chlorine tabs perfectly, and the main reason I got it is to keep ducks away from the pool, because they make a mess - they don't come near anymore.

My first one lasted 5yrs in Florida heat until the base started to separate and the duck took on water. Got another one a few months ago. They look great, hold plenty of chlorine and will list to the side when it needs a refill. It gets a little banged up near the skimmer but all chlorinators do. The Mallard is also tall enough so it doesn't get sucked into the skimmer. Can't imagine my pool without this guy.

We just replaced our 20 year old ones and bought two new ones! Thought we’d never find, Amazon to the rescue. We love watching them swim around in our pool. Our pool system circulates the water causing them to move. They look so real swimming around. Decorations only!

Only had for about a month but so far so good. I read other reviews that it didn’t float straight but mine floats perfect (and I don’t load it with pucks either - just one or two) Really cute and realistic.

Cute chlorine puck holder, fits the large pucks. Alot bigger than I thought it would be though. I bought this as a cute hot tub addition, but it's rather large. Still like it though

I have had a salt water chlorine generator for over 20 years, actually, I have had five of them in 20 years since they all decide to stop working after a certain time, usually right after the warranty expires. So, I finally decided to just get rid of the saltwater automatic chlorinating system and go to a floating chlorinator. I chose the duck because I thought it was funny and cute and my grandchildren love it. I expected it to work ok, but it's actually working just great. I replenish my 3 inch tablets once a week which is next to zero maintenance and my chlorine levels are consistently near-perfect. My pool is about 25,000 gallons so I did purchase two floating chlorinators, but have found that three tablets in one of them is adequate and controlling my chlorine levels perfectly. I would buy this again in a heartbeat because it works and it's fun and the price was okay.

The product works as advertised and the price was so so. I was disappointed because the quality of the threads that the chlorine container screws to the base of the floating duck are very poor and it takes several attempts to screw it back on without the risk of cross threading. This process has to be done every several days in order to replenish the 3" chlorine tablets and it really a pain in the ass trying to be delicate enough to avoid damaging the threads in the process. I would not buy this product again. In the desert sun this product will deteriorate in 2 years and when its finish so am I. All the plastic chlorine floaters all get destryed in the sun here. Believe me I have bought many plastic chlorine dispensers over the years. I wish I could fine a more durable product.

I have used these ducks for years, at least 7 years that I can recall, maybe more. I even got some female decoy mallards from a sporting goods store to keep them company. What can I say, I'm an old romantic type. I usually bought the Chlori-Ducks at my local pool supply store but they stopped carrying them a few years back and wanted about twice as much to order one. I was excited to see them on Amazon when two recently cracked on the top (the most common ailment reported). They were at least 5 years old. For the price, 5 years is a reasonable life expectancy. I was concerned about some of the reviews on Amazon, especially the old versus new issues, so I ordered only one. The one that I received was identical in structure, quality, build, and functionality as those purchased in past years from the pool supply store. I am not sure what the complaints are about. Mine holds four (4) three-inch tablets, as did the older ones. Now, if you put only one tab in it will float sideways. Put in more than two tabs and when it begins to lean sideways that is the sign that it needs a refill. Regarding the comments about having to drill holes, take the bottom off (unscrew it) to extend it and keep your drill in the tool box. Overall, after reading the comments on Amazon I am very happy to find it is my same old Chlori-Duck as always. I will be ordering the second replacement duck.
