If you’re digging sandy soil, grass, dried mud or soft snow, this product probably works fine. If you have normal American soil with rocks, this is not the product for you! And when you return this item, it will cost $85. Amazon makes you pay for the return of this product. You would think that a gas powered digger would be a time saver but it is a time waste. The digger was only able to penetrate 3/4 of an inch of real dirt! In addition, the instructions were in a broken up form of English. I found myself re-reading the instructions over and over again.

This is a great way to plant trees and gets a hole dug a lot faster than with a traditional shovel. This is a great tool, however after about a month the blade of my excavator broke and I have been in contact with the company to get refund as replacement are months out

Excavation of even the HARDEST soil (mine seems to be 50/50 dirt and gravel) is easily done by the weight of the machine alone. I estimate that it took 50 minutes from an hour of working with a spade, pick axe, and shovel.

It was recommended by my neighbor. Although I wasn't very happy with the product the first time I received it, the buyer was very responsive and replaced it with a new one.I have tried several land surfaces and it adapts well inside dirt, but does not perform as well as expected in rocky or gravelly soil. It does work better as advertised for planting trees or clearing some brush roots.I have to say that this gas shovel is less labor intensive and more efficient than a regular hand shovel.
