did not want to install a full blown hood, this is just the ticket to catch the smokiness from occasional spirited sizzle etc. The included tripod is well made, or you can suspend it from a pivoting handle of sorts

These portable range hoods really are such a great innovation. Especially for those who enjoy cooking dishes that tend to have the aroma linger on longer than most people want. I have a couple of other portable range hoods; I like that they can be brought along when visiting and doesn't require a ton of space either. This does require a "corded electric" power source, so you will want to take that into consideration as well. This exhaust fan does a good job with dissipating the "smell" and helping to make the cooking area more ventilated and promote more air flow. My hood for the stove is not great, and this is the little pull it needs to not set off the fire alarm when I'm searing burgers and steaks. It is in no way quiet, but it's not that much louder than my hood at full blast either. I do wish it was battery powered and charged instead of being a plug in unit, but that might put this in another price bracket for something that I don't use all the time.Great to keep in a pinch!

I sent this to my daughter in D.C. She lives in an older studio in a decent area of the city, so I was surprised they didn't have hood vents for the stoves. Now she can cook without setting off her fire alarm! Excellent invention! Her fiance who is a chef is planning on getting one too for his indoor grill!

Arrived quickly packaged well. Pretty straight forward to set up. There was an extensive instruction booklet included to help if necessary. Came with additional filters. It appears to me they are also washable. I used it next to my Emeril oven yesterday and it worked great. What I am disappointed in is that it has to be plugged in to operate. It is not 'portable' because of that. But I'm not concerned as it will live next to my Emeril oven and there's a USB plug right there. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase. I only gave 4 stars because of it not being operable without being plugged in. Oh, and it does fit under my cabinets. I just spread the tripod out more until it fit.

I do not have an exhaust fan in my kitchen (my house is ancient!), so when I came across this portable exhaust fan, I grabbed it. I've had to limit the amount of times I fry something, because the grease smell is so difficult to get rid of...but this fan helps to cut down on the bad after smells!!! I keep it on my kitchen counter, so it's always close to the charger. It lasts a decent amount of time once fully charged. To be honest, I didn't even realize a product like this existed, but I'm so happy I came across it! Definitely recommend it!

I recently moved to a new house and the kitchen extractor it’s unable to get out the fumes when we cook beef so the #%^*! smoke detector sounds every time, now with this beside I can seals the beef and cook it with high temperature without the smoke detector sounding, recommend it.
