So far only ran once as a test with an rv water pump feeding from a bucket… but very impressed. Water got hot quickly and stayed perfect at low flame. Good pressure (from the pump) through the unit. It was cool out and used cold tap water. The screws through the back are a hazard as stated in other reviews. I’ll have to put a protector on the back which they should do at the factory. But for under $200 can’t be too picky. If it keeps working it’ll keep being 5 stars!

While taking a shower during a power outage may not be my first concern, it is nevertheless a psychological boost to feel clean. And what better way than with a tankless water heater.Rankin has produced a small 35,000 BTU tankless water heater (model RO4K-P) that is a convenient size for emergencies or camping. Basically all you need to do is (1) hang the heater (2) connect the water inlet and outlet (3) connect the gas and you're all set to go. Of course that’s an oversimplification but you get the point. I tested everything out and it worked as it was supposed to, instant hot water. Now there are a few changes I would recommend to make this product more user friendly. Some are picky and some are not. See photos.OneThe battery box is marked on-off. On-off to me means a switch of some kind when in reality it should read open-closed because it’s only the lid to the battery compartment.TwoMove the power switch to the front of the heater instead of underneath the heater.ThreeThe three knobs on the front of the heater didn’t fit very well. This is cosmetic and in no way affected the operation of the heaterFourPipe threads can be confusing, but the photo titled garden hose didn’t help. BSP threads in North America (?) and calling it female to female (?) If I'm missing something please let me know. This fitting is for connecting the propane regulator and hose to the water heater.FiveI had to buy an adapter so the garden hose could be connected to the water inlet.SixSummer and winter control. Ok, so I know depending on the season you need to place the knob in the proper position. I just want to know why, what function does it perform? I’m the curious type.In all, everything on it works, there are a few changes I would like to make and some cosmetic concerns. The manual for the most part is well written and illustrated. And it's comforting to know that we can take a shower should a power outage last for more than a few days.

My water heater froze up and burst. Hence I purchased this one. High hopes and yes I read the feedback, it was good! Hired a professional installer, paid him to install it and it would not power up. We tried 3 sets of batteries, we tried 2 different propane sources and nothing. Amazon was great and immediately refunded my money. The mfr/seller were not so great to work with. Don't even know what controls are on the model I purchased. Answered back once and then quit communicating. Just overall not a good experience and I still don't have hot water! I would not buy it if it were me, the idea is great but the product is not. IMHO!

We use this heater to provide hot water for dishes. It works great! We reduce the flow for warmer water temperatures.
