All around a good little torch. The only thing is starting it and shutting it off kind of sucks.

Well, I thought this would allow me to heat shrink electric connections and does some brazing on my old AC units for my RV, but the torch would not hold the flame at the lowest setting. The flame kept going out. I returned it and bought the 220 watt version.

This thing is really slick. I use it for plumbing. Works good for tight spaces. Not much more powerful then the smaller-tip one. This is also the same exact torch that Blue point uses, they just throw their sticker on it.

Portasol is the same company that makes torches for Blue Point. I had the Blue Point version for years with no problems but the igniter finally gave out and no replacements are available. Keep in mind it got used over 5,000 times before it gave out so it was a no brainer to get another one. I did get this model for the larger flame which works great but it uses fuel twice as fast. Great torch though and would recommend this to any mechanic or any one looking for this type of product.

Its a little too hot to solder small wire even on the lowest setting. I was expecting something a little smaller, but it is built well and will be very useful. It does NOT come with Butane in case you were wondering, but I didn't expect it to.

This torch goes where others wont and works like torches much larger. I have used this little torch for soldering copper pipes up to 3/4 inch in diam. which it handles just fine. along with brazing brass, copper to steel when I'm working on my custom art work water features/ fountains. Up side, It has the feel of quality and is built with work in mind, I have dropped it several times with no damage to it, and it stands upright without falling over like other larger torches I have. If you get one make sure to read the instruction because the operation of it is different than other small torches. there is one downer with this torch, it's fuel consumption. But really for the amount of heat it puts out it's fuel consumption is understandable. That being said the torch works well, So if you have a need for a small torch, this is the one for you. As always god bless to all and our great country. I hope this helps you make the decision to buy or not. Peace

This was a very nice tourch while it lasted. I've tested out a lot of tourches and this one has one of the biggest flames I've seen on one. It's really easy to use, it's got a great lock on it to keep it on without having to hold down the button. It also holds a lot of butane making the refills last longer. Although if you have the torch on full strength it will go through the fluid a bit faster than if it was on half strength or less. And in comparison to a Home Depot average torch the middle strengths on the portasol is about the same as the top strength on a similar torch. The only complaint I have is after months of use the metal refill spout broke off while refilling it. And once this happened there's no way to use it anymore. So I would recommend it but be careful refilling it.

Plenty of heat and works great. But...why would you make fuel windows that's IMPOSSIBLE to see? The "gray" windows (both sides) that's supposedly to let you know if your fuel level is low are useless due to low opacity. This 100% defeats it's designed purpose. Funny.08-14-2013: After only a few occasional use since I bought it, the ignition mechanism stopped working completely. I'd try to fire multiple times and the little "spark" just won't start. This will be my first and last product bought from this company. This torch was not cheap! Going back to Blazer.
