As a graphic designer for over 30 years, I have or have owned a great number of portfolios. Right now, I produce a 9x12 monthly magazine so I was looking for something to store some of the more special issues. So I ordered this because this seems like a great size for it. Well, it arrived, at all three spine grommets were broken off (disaasembled). The cover was completely separated from the pages and everything slid out separately. Very bad way of binding this portfolio together, I think, that it could break apart from transit alone. Imagine carrying this and it decided to break then, all the artwork and special stuff would fall right out. Go with the better known German brands that are more expensive. This price may be cheaper, but it is not wortht the risk of anything you may carry in this portfolio. To have something damaged or wet or torn or stained because of the poor construction of these. You would never forgive yourself. I think also the spine plastic piece that is supposed to hold the pages down is too cheap, too thinly made from pastic and that breaks away under stress. SAVE YOUR MONEY, do not buy this.

I'm an ephemera collector and have problems storing my large antique can labels because of their length. I've found this size portfolio works well allowing me to store at least 2 labels per page, 4 if I use an acid free piece of paper between them. The binder is decent quality. The plastic sheets are adequately thick. The outer cover protects the contents well. The size is great and it's easy to open and close with a decent elastic secure tab. The only issue I had with mine was of the 3 metal rivets that hold the pages in, one came broken from factory. Only half of it was in the box meaning it was packed damaged. That's unfortunate because that means the binding isn't as strong anymore increasing the risk of the pages falling out.If the book was not damaged I'd give it a 5 star rating. I suspect most people's will not be and I was just unlucky. That being said, at the present price of $17.99 I feel that is with in fair market value... for an undamaged book.

This portfolio is a good value for under $20. There are 20 pockets on each side of the binding, total of 40 that are 11x17" This would make for 80 count of pages total. The pockets are a plastic sheeting that is transparent, but it's not labeled if these sheets are archival quality or not. For the price I'm going to think not. The page pockets also do not close so the opening should always be placed along the top of the folio, which does correspond correctly with the front cover. The cover is a rigid black plastic and the plastic pockets are permanently riveted to the cover along the spine in three places. There is an elastic closure that wraps around a button on the front edge of the cover. If this were a more expensive product, I would be unhappy that the pockets could not be replaced, say if they tear, but this isn't possible since the pockets are permanently attached. So this shouldn't be for presentations whereby there might be a lot of swapping artwork in and out. Instead this folio should have pieces added and then left there. Otherwise I would be worried about tearing the plastic or pockets splitting open.Given the above considerations I can offer a 5-star review, because it is a good value for the price. Good for grade school or beginning students.

I was initially worried that the pages were too thin, but they appear to be standing up to use, and I checked against my other larger portfolios, and they have about the same thickness. So the pages are thin, clear, and smooth. The pages do have a bend to them when you get closer to the binding, so I recommend keeping the artwork to 10.75 inches by 17 inches if you want to prevent it from curling and/or sticking out the top. The cover is quite sturdy, and I wish my (other) larger portfolio was the same as this one. It doesn't bend easily, and you can fasten it closed. Because this is still fairly small as far as portfolios go, you don't really need a handle on it.

As an artist, I got this portfolio to store some of my old childhood artwork, and I needed something large enough to keep them safe and organized.Quality:Unfortunately, my portfolio arrived broken! Two of the three rivets that hold the portfolio together weren’t even snapped in place, causing the sleeves to be loose inside the cover. The rivets they use are cheap quality too... This was really frustrating, as it made the portfolio unusable at first. Luckily, I had spare rivets from my crafting supplies and was able to fix it myself, but this was definitely a letdown. On the positive side, the cover is made from a sturdy plastic that feels protective and should keep the artwork nice and flat. The sleeves are also a good quality plastic, thick enough to avoid tearing and hold my artwork securely. I appreciate that the size of the portfolio can accommodate larger pieces as well.Price:If it hadn't arrived broken, the price would seem reasonable for the quality. It’s not the cheapest option out there, but considering the size and material, it would be a good deal.Overall:Once I fixed it, the portfolio works well for my needs. However, I can’t overlook the quality control issue—buyer beware when it comes to potential damage or poor assembly.Pros:✅ Sturdy plastic cover that protects artwork✅ Good quality sleeves that hold artwork securely✅ Spacious enough to store larger piecesCons:❌ Arrived broken, with two rivets not attached❌ Quality control issues could be a concernTL;DR:This portfolio is great for storing artwork once it’s fixed, but it arrived broken due to poor quality control. It works well after repairs, but be cautious when ordering.
