I bought this as a solution to fix my kids ride on car which was not used very often and the battery completely died. Splicing it was easy, black to black and red to red and I got power. I used a 3mah battery to power it and it has more power and it's quicker than before. It is a 6v ride on car and I'm using a 20v 3mah battery. I did smell some burning but didn't see anything when inspecting. Hope the motors will handle the new battery. I noticed that using not fully charged batteries work best. I like that it has a fuse that could cut off the power if needed
