It's a good tool for the price point, but needed some modifications to make it better. The storage area for the extra snap/grommet dyes needs to be modified by thinning the material so that the dyes lock into the orings to keep them from falling off. I also chamfered the edges of those holes to keep them from cutting the orings up when your sliding the dyes in and out. The other modification I made was to cut a grove inside the machined hole that the dyes slides into to match up with the Oring on the dyes so that it "Locks" into the tool and doesn't fall out as easily.... I'm not sure why this was not machined into this in the manufacturing process of the tool... but it wasn't!I used a Dremel Tool and some grinding bits to make all of these modifications.

This is a great tool if you don’t wanna spend the extra money for the Hoover. When it was at $60 where I bought it was a great deal and it’s well worth it, now they’re pushing $100 plus it should still be about $70 less than the Hoover. At $60 well worth it over $100, I think I’d spend the extra for the HooverThe Hoover is still a superior product.

Half the price of the "Hoover press and snap" tool and it is the same tool!I've only tested installing one snap so far and it worked great. It is leaps and bounds better than those "vise grip" style ones that look like a 3rd grader welded the dies on.The only con so far is the "on board" storage of the Xtra dies. They just don't stay put. No biggie though since I bought a cheap storage container to put all my snaps and dies in.The seller was quick to ship also!I have about 46 snaps to install on my new boat cover and I will update when job is finished.10/3/24 Installed all 48 snaps on my new boat cover yesterday in about an hour and this tool worked perfectly! Very easy to use and with the correct adjustment, it sets the snaps very securely. This was the first time I have ever installed snaps in anything. Now I have to find other things to install snaps on! LOL

The PowerSnap tool worked as described, but the price was a little high. However, the money I saved doing it myself was worth the cost.

Well worth the money. High quality. Don't waist you time or money on the cheap Vice grip style. Even my canvas guy said they were a great choice.
