Perfect for small(ish) cuts on all types of wood. Price so much better than the other "names" brands and works just as well.

The only negative comment about this product is that it is not as heavy duty, as I was hoping. However, so far it has worked as described.

Assembly was relatively simple. There are videos to help if like me the print is a little small to read easily. I don't currently have room for a jointer and this worked well helping me straighten up a few boards.Board will bow a little when you tighten down the clamps. I actually added a 3rd powertech clamp and it resolved the issue. For the price, the hardware alone will probably cost more than what I paid for it. At least where I live.

This angle jig is easy to assemble and use. The push handle is away from the saw blade which makes it safer. Setting the angle of cut is much simpler than other angle jigs that are two pieces of adjustable metal. It also has the ability to do straightening cuts by removing the miter bar and using the saw’s fence. The base material is MDF coated with probably melamine.

I've had this for about a week and so far it has worked flawless. When I received it there was some damaged hardware included. I contacted Powertec and they corrected the situation immediately. I will definitely buy again. .

I bought this because I was installing hardwood floors in the upstairs of my house. The door opening looks 90º, but isn’t. I needed to start flush against the doorway, but that would have set the boards at an angle to the room. To get it all straight, I needed to cut the first piece in a taper about 3/8” different across a 3’ doorway. There were several jigs available to do this, but this one was reasonably priced and would arrive promptly. I spent about 45 minutes setting it up, then I used it to cut my tapered piece. I must admit I was somewhat surprised that it was a perfect fit on the first try. No one will ever notice that this one piece is tapered, but it allowed the rest of the room to fit straight and it worked perfectly.Later, doing a landing at the top of the stairs, the landing step and the bathroom opening across from it were not quite parallel. Again, a taper was my solution and this jig again provided perfect results. I will emphasize that both tapers I cut are highly visible and had no room for error. This jig allowed me to rip them perfectly.I read some reviews wishing for sturdier materials and such, but the miter slot rail fit smoothly, it operated nicely with the saw, and it it sturdy enough to hold your wood securely for a tapered rip. Just take care of it and it will be fine. Do check the measurements they list to be sure your saw is within range for this to work, but if it is, then you won’t be disappointed. I am very happy with this jig and would recommend it for someone who needs to do something similar.

First review: This Taper/Straight Line Jig seems new though the box seemed to have been opened, came chipped, and peeled in too many places. The black laminate - or whatever that material is - is paper thin and was cracked, chipped, and protruding in several places. for a few minutes, I thought well - it's a jig - why should I care that much? Then I realized I was getting annoyed. True, It's not terribly expensive but it is supposedly new - if it comes this way from the manufacturer what does it say about its longevity? The real issue I had was that the surface had bumps where that questionable black material formed protruding bumps - and I just had enough. Packed it back and returned it. I am ordering another one - and if that one comes in the same sad state - I will just get that red brand that costs like 5x what this one costs but at least I will have some pride - just like the manufacturer should have.Second review:The second unit came much less injured.I am keeping it and should add 2 stars. It is still clearly not made with great materials and reflected by the price. For occasional usage it is probably fine. Need to trim it to fit zero clearance to the blade. I would not rely on the markings and instead will check the angle. It would have been great to have clear angles and ability to lock them up and better melamine on the mdf even for 2x the price. Also, in particular to sawstop users- be carful with the clamps to not touch the blade.

This jig is overpriced, in the US it sells for less than $100. Also, my miter slot on the DWE7491RS is apparently too far from the blade to make zero clearance (over 1 inch). I reported this to the vendor and they said I could drill new holes further out or return it. I drilled new holes and luckily was precise and it all worked in the end but for this price it should be a lot wider to start with, and then let the customer cut it down to size for zero clearance!

The kit is essentially the same as what most woodworkers would build themselves - however it comes witg all of the hardware which alone is worth close to 60$ (20$ for the miter bar, 20$ for the T track, 20$ for the clamps). Add in the Melamine MDF and the fact that it's all already cut to size and works flawlessly and I'd say it's well worth the extra money just to have it pre-made for you. Only complaint is it could have more capacity for steeper angles, but thats more of a nit pick. I'm really happy with the jig.
