For me? I have a special need to have a various abrasive cleaners for my kit. This particular abrasive is simple, efficient, and useful for those times when a 'quick' clean is warranted and I don't want to bring out the heavy hitters. The stick is, at first, a little tricky to deal with. Once you get the hang of it, they will do what they are meant to do. For use, there is a little 'breaking' in period. or you can call it that, to wear the abrasive shape into the stick. But that may be just me. If you are searching for an abrasive stick and one that functions, this will certainly be a good option. After a few uses, and checking the stones, I cannot find any issues that would be of significant importance. They are, for the most part, ideal, functional, and practical. Why four stars? For me, there was a 'slight' learning curve as I use them on various sharpening stones requiring a cleaning and it took a little more time to get the abrasive "right". Well worth the time though. They work. ....
