PRO:Ground to w/in .001" on size, flatness, and parallelism to opposing side.Shipped wrapped/coated in wax paper (no rust).Very good quality, for such a bargain!CON:Not as hard as I'm used to (dings easily, but can also be stoned off easily).Overall:MUST-HAVE. I would recommend to anyone, but the most discriminating of Machinists.

I would NOT recommend anyone buy this! They arrived and had dings on them, and they were out almost .005” on flatness, I had to send them off to get ground which I shouldn’t have to do. This is false advertisement for sure and nobody needs to buy these blocks!

These exceed my expectations. Others have said they aren’t very hard, but they are at least, (according to my Tsubosan hardness set) harder than 55HRC, (but not harder than 60). Also, they are very very square and measured on my surface plate to be 2.0000 x 4.0000 x 6.0000 inches. I was unable to measure any angular deviation on the squareness. Excellent buy at twice the price.

Checked on a surface plate with a LVDT against gage blocks. Blocks are matched to 0.0002", and are not more than 0.0002" from nominal 2" 4" 6". Very flat and parallel - Minus a star for low hardness and a slight waviness (I totally recommend these as a great value. Maybe order them by themselves - they are a dense 18 pounds!

These come packaged in a rust-inhibiting wrap, almost like a waxy brown paper bag, covered in oil. They are also wrapped inside plastic and paired inside a cardboard box with cardboard shredding between and around them. Once unwrapped, and the excess oil cleaned off, I inspected them and they are spot on down to 0.0001" dimensionally and flatness. They are beautifully ground and all corners are chamfered/countersunk. They are threaded for 5/8"-11 bolts. My only dislikes are the holes themselves: I had to run a tap through every hole to clean up the threads, only the face holes are threaded (no end or edge holes are threaded), and the through-holes (non-tapped holes) are not big enough to pass a 5/8" bolt through it to bolt one block to the other. In my opinion, the issues with the holes are not big enough for me to care. I would buy another set and would also recommend this product.

I ordered the BL-246 blocks to assist in assembly of large plastic cases, helping to achieve perfect, 90 degree bonds. I have been using 1-2-3 blocks in this way for many years. The BL-246 blocks have the mass to maintain position on their own, supporting material while bonds set. It leaves my hands free to do other things. The blocks are also of use in maintaining constant pressure on a joint or face during bonding, acting like a clamp, again, freeing my hands to do other things. Some might think 2-4-6 blocks an expensive way to do this, but the BL-246 blocks were affordable, the expense easily justified in my shop. I work better, faster and make more money, in less time. After placing my order, the blocks arrived in short order. They came double boxed as the original box was not durable enough to bear the blocks' weight in shipment. The blocks were wrapped in oil paper, were untarnished and in good condition. Due to their weight, shipment was a significant portion of their cost. If one is on a super tight budget, be aware of this.I anticipate finding many other uses for the blocks. I have a vertical mill in frequent use. The blocks should be useful for set-ups and fixtures, lending more solutions and flexibility in my arsenal of tooling.I have always thought that 246 blocks would make good gifts as elegant, novelty book stops and be useful as a third hand in the handling of textiles, foam sheeting and roll paper.
