Blue Light Explained
Macular Degeneration Blue light (HEV) penetrates all the way to your retina and has been shown that too much exposure to blue light can damage light sensitive cells in the retina. This causes changes that are similar to those of macular degeneration, which can lead to permanent vision loss. Many eye care professionals have concerns that the blue light exposure from digital screens might increase a person's risk of macular degeneration later in life.
Digital Eye Fatigue Short wavelength, high energy blue light scatters more easily than other visible light and makes it not as easily focused. When you're looking at your digital screen that emit significant amounts of blue light, this unfocused visual light reduces contrast and can contribute to digital eye strain.
Sleep Disruption Blue light is very important in regulating circadian rhythm - your body's natural wakefulness and sleep cycle. Exposure to blue light during daytime hours helps maintain a healthful circadian rhythm. But too much blue light late at night can disrupt this cycle, causing sleepless nights and daytime fatigue. People who use their electronic devices before bed have a harder time falling and staying asleep.
Why Not Block All Blue Light?
It's well documented that some blue light exposure is essential for good health. Research has shown that high-energy visible light boosts alertness, helps memory and cognitive function and elevates mood.
In fact, something called light therapy is used to treat seasonal affective disorder (SAD) — a type of depression that's related to changes in seasons, with symptoms usually beginning in the fall and continuing through winter. The light sources for this therapy emit bright white light that contains a significant amount of HEV blue light rays.
Also, blue light is very important in regulating circadian rhythm — the body's natural wakefulness and sleep cycle. Exposure to blue light during daytime hours helps maintain a healthful circadian rhythm. But too much blue light late at night (reading a novel on a tablet computer or e-reader at bedtime, for example) can disrupt this cycle, potentially causing sleepless nights and daytime fatigue.

Hard to believe that this blue light screen actully works for me. Now my eyes are less strained and tired after being in my computer whole day and sometimes at night. It also incedentally protects my monitor and easy to clean.

Very easy to install, just hang it over the top edge of the screen. No need to stick it in place. However, although the width was a good match for my screen, the height was too tall and I can't easily reach the on-off bottom monitor button without moving the new screen. But my biggest issue is the glare. I get reflections of my ceiling light and the under-hutch light at the top of this screen filter; it is not anti-glare at all, and that interferes with a "clean view" at the top my monitor. Wish it were truly anti-glare, but it is not.

I have 2 screens so of course I ordered 2 of these anti glare screens. They are both scratched up, and look like they've been used before. I put them on my monitors to see if the scratches would diminish and they looked even worse. The screen was cloudy and I could barely see my screens. As for the blue ray protection, I highly doubt there's any.This makes me mad, because I have no choice but to return them and when we return things, Amazon notices returns and that could harm your account standing. All I can say is buyer beware.

It's bigger than my 32" monitor, and that's totally fine for me. For those who need it to be more flush, maybe it's too big.I was afraid it would flop about, but it sits right on top of my Samsung monitor, and I didn't even have to use the sticky tape they sent with it. It's very stable. I could also fit my logitec webcam on top of it without any issues.It comes with a little blue light testing sheet and beam, which is pretty cool. I was able to use it to check out the blue light blocking of my glasses too.As for the glare, it's no worse and no better than the monitor itself.I do definitely feel less eye strain while using, and it's better than putting on those anti blue light glasses, which weigh heavy on my nose.A bit expensive, methinks, but a well worth it investment on my eyes.

Ok, it comes in and you may be underwhelmed or think, it’s too big! Or, it’s scratched! I had to look at another review to see the issue. The instructions say to remove the “paperback” and it isn’t clear to me what that is. There is a strip on the front and back basically that removes the plastIc shipping protection screen from the blue light screen. It will look all scratched up and you’ll be thinking of returning it until then. Take that off, and just place the curved part on the top of your monitor and it looks great. The yellow bag is to wipe your monitor first and then it has a dry/shine pad after you clean it. You may not even see the dust so make sure you clean it. You can also use eye glasses lens wipes. My screen does go an inch under my screen but you really likely will not be bothered by it once the protection screens on both sides are removed.

LOVE this blue light blocker for my desktop computer monitor. I've been using blue light blocker readers, which help a lot...the combination of the glasses and this monitor screen--which is sized to fit my monitor--have all but completely eliminated the dry eye and other blue light issues. And best of all, unlike other blockers that must be applied to the monitor screen like a tablet screen protector, creating bubble issues etc, this one is hard plastic that hangs over the top of the monitor. It has a slight blue tint, but that doesn't affect the colors on the monitor screen at all and the mouse has no trouble working through it. It's well worth every penny I paid for it!

For $130 I expected to at least have a clear view of what's on my screen. I now feel like I need glasses when looking at my spreadsheets, everything just looks blurry. There doesn't seem to be any glare but what's the point if i can't even work properly with it on.

While I only use it on one of the two monitors I use, it gets the most use. My headaches during the day are gone. There is a bit of glare, but not as much as I initially thought there would be. It attached easily with the two sided tape that it came with and fit across the screen well. Definitely recommend!
