After the professional player accident and the ensuring safety requirement (no neck guard, no ice time), neck guards were in short supply, if you could even find one. This guard satisfied the requirements (cover the neck) but has large gaps between the bottom of the guard and the chest/neck area.Many players complained about the neck guard requirement, particularly parents of children....safety comes first.I recommend the bibbed version which provides far more protection at essentially the same price and is far more comfortable than this unit.Better, still: get a shirt with built-in neck guard, but pricey.

This is a thin and wide guard. Small size fits my 9 and 11 yr old with room to spare. It'd silky and top notch. Will not buy another brand/version.

This guard is soft and strong. It is not too bulky and it very comfortable yet also protects my 6 y/os entire neck.

I got this for my son a few months ago because he kept saying his current neck protector was hurting his neck. This one feels like it is made from a cut-proof cloth and is much more comfortable.

This works well and passes the new hockey guidelines to be able to keep playing hockey games. Washes well and stays up to standard. Not too stiff, nice and soft and comfortable to game and move around in. Fit can be altered easily by the soft, non scratchy Velcro adjustable strap. Value for money.

It didn't fit the way I wanted on my son. He is 17 pretty average hockey player size. But it was loose.
