We have a different array of like wheat straw and vegetable fiber silverware and plates and dishes and such. I have gotten wheat grass knives before and they did not have as. strongest serration as these. They actually cut very, very well for a type of plastic. They're a little bit smaller than other knives, but they work just great for our use Really happy with these.

These vegetable fiber knives are very smooth and very heavy-duty compared to traditional plastic knives. The best part is they won't be sitting in a landfill somewhere for the next 1,000 years since they are completely biodegradable. Excellent!

I’ll admit I use more disposable items than I should.I didn’t put much thought into it.Getting these helped me think about my impact. These aren’t heavy duty but I’ll make that compromise. They are like the $ store ones, those are terrible. These are good just more flexible than the heavy duty. They don’t snap as easily as most plastic cutlery.

These knives do a great job of slicing and cutting for disposable ones. They are sturdy with big teeth, and they fit well in your hand. I had the toughest ribs ever tonight, and the knife did a great job of cutting through, not as good as a metal knife, of course, but surprisingly well for a vegetable one. It didn't break with a lot of pressure, and overall did an excellent job with my ribs.

This rating is specific to the item in the subject line, but as I have tried the biodegradable forks, knives, and spoons by The Veggie Straws, and presumably, you would be using 2 or more of these products together, I wanted to discuss all of them in a single review. To start off, I wanted to say that I utilize plastic cutlery often and although I use it frequently, I often think about the expense and environmental impact a single use piece of plastic incurs, especially when using it for a very short amount of time, as in a few bites or to cut up my dog’s food before putting it out for her. However, the convenience of plastic cutlery keeps me on that bandwagon. I normally use the heavy duty clear plastic cutlery and that is what I will be using to compare these pieces to.The Forks- These forks are slightly smaller than the heavy duty plastic forks I am used to, but larger than a lot of the standard plastic forks (ie party forks). They do not hold up great to tougher pieces of meat, especially if you are also using a knife in a “sawing” motion. The fork has a tendency to bend and/or break at the neck when using with a knife on tougher foods. However, for more tender foods, not necessarily meaning “soft foods”, the forks work great.** The Knives- These knives are smaller than the heavy duty plastic knives I typically use. The blade is actually about the same size. It is the handle that is shorter by about an inch. The knives cut really nicely through tender foods, including cut right through a baked potato, skin and all, with ease. This knife does not cut through a broiled angus shoulder cut. I found this piece of meat to be pretty tough. I really think it would cut through a filet, as that is more tender. I would consider this to be more along the lines of a butter knife. There is a reason why there are separate steak knives, so for general use similar to what you would use a butter knife for, I think these knives work well. The Spoons- These spoons are great! Unlike the knives and forks in the “set”, the spoons are larger than the heavy duty plastic spoons I am used to. They are also deeper and hold up to heat so they are perfect for soups, serving vegetables, and spooning out condiments. The spoons are, by far, the best of the three pieces of the veggie cutlery.I am pretty impressed with the feel of these pieces as I did not know that vegetable fibers can look and feel so much like plastic. Also there is no detectable taste given off by these pieces while being utilized.
