These are good cotton socks with one caveat- sizing. I am 5'2", 115 lbs, size 8 1/2 Wide shoe. By the chart, I should be size Small and since these are unisex, you'd think that is definite. I asked before buying and the Seller suggested Large due to the wide width. Sure enough, the Large fits perfectly. I am not a super wide, but it is just enough to make a difference. So I would look closely at the sizing, maybe ask the Seller before buying if in doubt. Asking before hand saved time and return headaches. But they are good cotton socks.

I got these socks to wear under a walking boot following the removal of a cast after foot surgery. I needed cushioned socks that extended to just below the knee, and these fit the bill. The are well-made, thick enough to provide comfort, and just snug enough to provide very light compression. The colors are bright and cheery and don't run or fade. Although my need for and use of them may be very specific, I will note that they are also a perfect "insulating layer" for the application of heat or ice packs to the foot or leg.I like these socks and will likely purchase more.

I'm a size 6- 6.5 Nike runner size and this socks is really too big for me. I really like it because it's thick and just over the knees, I wish they have smaller sizes~

I usually wear actual compression socks, but I couldn't find any that had the desired retro triple stripe like these. I was going to wear compression sleeves under these just to get the look I was going for, but it turned out they have some mild compression in their elasticity, so I can wear them just as is.They are comfortable, long enough to go up to my knees (some knee high socks barely make it up to my knees and cause an unsightly bulge where they stop an inch too low), and they look great. I wear them all the time.Although they are only just mild for the compression effect, they make up for that by being SO much easier to get on and off than actual compression socks (which are a major struggle especially when taking off). These are not sold as compression socks, but I find they do have some. Other reviewers describe them as "too tight" but I don't think they really are tight as in too small, they just have a good amount of elastic (probably for purposes of not letting them slide down).I am 140 pounds and 5'9" so I would be considered tall. My calves are medium to large - which causes the socks to expand and stretch a bit to accommodate - hence the compression effect. I think if you have very slim calves there would be no compression, or if you have very large calves they would have a lot of compression affect or feel too tight. Socks are very hard to get right for all the variable calve sizes - there can't be a one size fits all.
