Classic dual head stethoscope that is acoustically and aesthetically enhanced by its all stainless steel construction. Fiberglass diaphragm side is utilized to optimally detect S1 and S2 heart sounds as well as Korotkoff sounds. Bell side is optimally designed for assessing S3 and S4 heart sounds. Incorporates a Snap-On diaphragm retaining ring and a non-chill bell ring which contributes to the ease of use and maintenance, while enhancing patient comfort.

I don't know if I received a defective stethoscope or they are all like that but I can hardly hear anything. I compared it to other stethoscopes in my nursing school and the difference is significant.I bought the stethoscope directly from amazon and there is no option to contact the seller.It was a waste of money for me as I have to buy another one now. This time I'd rather pay more but buy from my university store.

I have used a number of stethoscopes in my years as a nurse practitioner, and this one far out performs any others that I have tried. There is a famous, much more expensive, brand out there, but this one is even better than them, with the bonus that I don't have a heart attack any time I cannot find my stethoscope! It is very comfortable to use and has great sound dampening quality so that the only sound you are hearing is what you are trying to hear. I keep one in my car and two in my desk. It is a little heavier than some others, the clinical lite by prestige is a bit lighter, but I like this one better as it gives better sound quality. It does have both a bell and diaphragm that you can switch between which I like better than the kind of stethoscope you press at different pressures to get different sounds. All around my favorite stethoscope available, with a bonus of being a fantastic price!

really nice stethoscope, comes with a ton of extras my littman Classic II SE didn't come with. the scope above comes with 3 sets of extra ear pieces, a name tag, a replacement diaphragm for the large bell. got a spare for nursing school, which i will be starting in spring. took my state required Emergency Medical Technician with my littman. honestly the littman i can hear a bit better but honestly i can do all i need with both. i would have spent this money on this scope because most of the others in my EMT class spent $20 for a piece of trash sprague that they had to put together and hearing pulses in a loud room was tough. i may order another for my medic bag.only thing i was disappointed about, was the inside literature mentions a different bell for pediatric care, that just screws in and no mention of needing to purchase more items. there is none in the packaging. i dont think you could even swap the small bell though not that i really looked.

The Prestige Stethoscope I purchased for family use is a great buy. The parts are sturdy and the functionality is terrific. I am using this stethoscope for my own home use. I am a mom, and being able to hear my little ones' lungs and tummies helps me to know if I need to send them to bed or take them to the doctor. This product works perfectly for my needs.

I've always known Littman products when it comes to stethoscopes since this is what I've been using since I graduated in 91. Prestige Medical is somewhat new to me. I bought this product basing my decisions on the reviews I read here at Amazon and I'm glad I did. The weight is just right - not too heavy, not too light. And the acoustics on the bell is great, even better than my old Littman. This is a very good buy.

*2021 update*-the original Prestige stethoscopes that I purchased here are still working well and I still wholeheartedly recommend them for someone just starting out in school or clinical practice. This is a fantastic value for the performance you get, and they've held up quite well over the years (I've now had the original one for almost 11 years). My primary stethoscope is now one of the nicer big name brand stethoscopes that I received as a Christmas gift a couple years ago. It does outperform these and has a few nicer features (pressure sensitive diaphragm and better sound deadening in the tubing) that said, I have still used my prestige brand stethoscopes from time to time and have zero complaints or reservations with their performance. Quite honestly, I'm not sure if I would have ever spent the money on a nicer stethoscope myself if I had stayed in a general practice role (I now work in a specialized cardiology-centric role and the improved sensitivity of the some of the high-end stethoscopes does come in handy from time to time). That said, anyone who needs to be able to check blood pressure manually or do basic auscultation in most settings should be absolutely fine with this stethoscope.*Original review*I'm in nursing school and didn't want to purchase the cheapo stethoscope that they were selling at the college bookstore. After doing some research I settled on this one. Almost a year of use later, I can say I'm very pleased! The sensitivity of this stethoscope rivals that of the basic Littmans I've used (I purposefully compared them after I first got this)! This has held up well and shows all intentions of lasting for many years to come. The only issue I've found is you need to make sure the earpiece tips stay screwed on tight. I almost lost one when I first started using this (guessing it wasn't as tight as it should have been from the manufacturer). Since then I've gotten into the habit of double checking them. I haven't had one loosen up on me since that first time - but I check out of habit now. I haven't seen a better deal for the money. Highly recommend!**Update** It is now 2015 as of this update and I still love this stethoscope! Practicing RN now for several years and I still stick by my original assertion that the sound quality and durability is every bit as good as the MUCH more expensive scopes. I've had several occasions where I've been accused of imagining adventitious lung sounds because I heard something the previous clinician had not caught (it pays to take your time for auscultation)! I'm pleased to see the price has dropped since I purchased my original one and I'm going to purchase an additional scope (I keep my other one at work now and I want to have one at home - why not for $25?).

I ordered this to try for some Missionary friends of mine in Thailand who need 10 new stethoscopes. Naturally I wanted to purchase the best quality for the best price. So I read all the reviews on Amazon and decided to try this one for myself, since I needed a new one anyway. I am a PACU RN and use my 3rd- 10 year old Littman 2 constantly - every day. I could NOT believe how much better I could hear EVERYTHING with this Prestige 1 for nearly half the price. I not only could hear my patient's bowel tones, but I could even hear my colleague's heart murmur, who was standing at the foot of the bed! (Just kidding) I wish it came in the bright colors, but at my age, I think I might be over it and I've decided quality of patient care is better than it looking pretty around my neck! I just ordered 10 more for my friends in Thailand!
