If you have been looking for a quick, easy way to bring classic electric guitar sound to your 3 or 4-string cigar box guitar, then look no further! This is an amazing little pre-wired magnetic pickup harness intended for 4-string instruments, ready to mount in your cigar box guitar or other stringed instrument without any need to solder or worry about wiring schematics. This harness features a special single coil pickup with a flanged black plastic base plate that makes it easy to surface mount on your build (you will still need to cut a hole in the surface to accommodate the bottom of the pickup). The pickup is wired to 500KOhm mini tone (with capacitor) and volume pots, and from there to the mono output jack. Black plastic Tone and Volume knobs are included along with mounting hardware for good measure. Please note that the pickup itself is actually a modified 6-pole pickup, with a 4-pole cover and special magnet arrangement to "hide" two of the poles. Best of all about this deal is the PRICE! Just imagine what it would cost to get all of the necessary parts separately to put this together... not to mention the time! You simply cannot go wrong with this low-cost setup. Size Specs: The distance (center to center) between pole 1 and pole 4 is: 1.125 inches; The distance from pole to pole (center to center) is .38 inches; Length of the pickup housing (the part that raises and lowers) is 2.78 inches; Overall length of the mounting flange is 4.81”; Width of the mounting flange is: 1.25” Please note - the cost of this 4-string harness is a little higher than the 6-string variety. That is because these are produced in much lower quantities, and as such cost more from the manufacturer.

Works awesome in my cigar box guitar. May want to change the tone capacitor depending on how you want your sound.

This is the first one I've ever used so I don't really have anything to compare it with. I'm knocking off two stars because it doesn't sit level in it's frame. I can't tell which knob is which.

The threads on the volume/tone knobs as well as the input jack aren't long enough to go through a cigar box.

Couldn't be happier with the ease of setup and the sound this pickup puts out. I have been building a guitar out of a spade shovel. I drilled a few holes, all the hardware was included and it sounds great!

Worked great out of the box! I had all the holes cut in my CBG, and installed, in less than 30 minutes. Nice sound and looks good. The price is right too!

Well... by the time I got around to installing it in an old short-neck bass I couldn't get it to work. Not even a buzz or a hum out of the thing. I mean dead as a door nail! Thought it might be a bad pickup so I tried the original pickup from the bass but still nothing. Hope others have better luck.
