Taylor Made fiberglass dock boxes are coated with a durable UV gelcoat finish with a solid foam core that contains no trapped air, making it more resistant to water and odors. Gas shocks are standard with our fiberglass boxes that keep the lid open in high winds and are easy to close.

So, the complaints about fender movement and inadequate straps seem right to me. The fender itself is fine, but I had to put some screws in it to hold it in place. If there is any fore and aft movement the fender will twist out of the way. Maybe a third strap in the middle would help.

Wonderful bumpers. They attach easily and remove quickly. They are good looking, and they work very well. They are tough and clean with a hose.

I bought 3 of these bumpers thinking I'd have to cut off the straps and screw them in, but after seeing how well the straps held I decided to rethink permanent installation. I have a 20' "cuddycabin" type boat, the bumpers work quite well and if tightened firmly, they don't move around. By keeping them portable I'll be able to redistribute the wear evenly between them and store them away easier. Other considerations are that in time of extreme tidal shift you can adjust their position, and you can take them with you on the boat if needed. I think this product is well made and offers good protection for small to mid-size boats(say >32'appox.)
