These are like the nice, heavy old-school headphones we used when I worked at a radio station a million years ago. They cover the entire ears and, unlike the new ones, do not make my ears go numb within 20 minutes. And it blocks off the outside sound well. They feel solid and come with good cords. This isn't designed for riding on the subway, it's for studio or deejay work.

I ordered these monitor headphones when I got to the point when I'm ready to start recording little guitar composition I've written after re-engaging with the instrument after a years-long hiatus. It's been a really good choice. They're comfortable even during long wear. Their wired connectivity eliminates lag. This also provides for very clear and crisp sound, something I especially appreciate as I re-learn how to produce precise notes and sounds. Head phones can be really expensive; the overall quality of these make them an exceptional bargain. You may find some at a somewhat cheaper price, but you're not likely to find any that are well-designed as these at this price-point.

These Hibilly headphones look exactly as pictured. The headphones come with a carrying pouch, and a detachable (a little over six feet in length) braided cable. These are closed back headphones and so they are great for jamming, recording and probably even mixing. They are nice for music listening, but they may come off a bit too bright. I find that non-electronic music genres sound way better on these.First Impressions:The one thing that immediately stood out for me was the quality of the build. It has a premium feel. The headband is padded and has beautiful red stitching as pictured. The frame is of some sort of black brushed steel vibe. The ear cups are large and round and cover my entire ears. The pads on the ear cups are thick and plushy, but more importantly, the fit is secure and snug against the ears, reducing noise bleed, and allowing for use for long stretches at a time. I got these as the weather began to cool and so I can't speak to how these would fare in the summer, as far as wear comfort. The Cable:The cable is not that thick, but it is long, (super convenient for if you have this connected to an audio interface, or an amp or other gadget that is a bit far away from you). The cable connects to the left ear cup only, and is braided as well, and so I experience no tangling, and the cable feels durable in the hand. The end of the cable that connects to the headphones has a sort of twist lock thing, and so when you insert the cable into the headphones, you twist and lock, and this keeps you from accidentally pulling out the cable from the headphones. The Sound:First of all, these are not headphones for bass heads. That is, if you're looking for headphones that accentuate the low end for the boom, these are probably not for you. These have a sort of linear leaning sound, bit more bright than anything else. I've tested this with frequency sweeps and can confirm that it reproduces sound from at least 20 HZ, but still, and compared to my Sony MDR 7506, the low end is not as rich or full, and so songs don't feel as glued together. I suspect that I may have to burn these in a bit longer. That said, the soundscape of this is wonderful, the sense of space and the stereo field is wide and immersive, with respectable detailed sound reproduction.Bottomline: these are very well built headphones. As far as sound, I would readily pick these up to trace a problem while mixing. I would readily use this if I am jamming with a band. However, this will probably not be my first choice for music listening sessions.
