For poly Kama, they seem pretty well made. A lot sturdier than they look at first glance. They are just a tiny bit lighter than I expected and a little shorter than I had hoped. They will be fine for Kihon practice for myself, but especially for a youth. Though I might file down the "edge" on the blade a little before letting my 6-year-old have a go. Overall, I am happy enough with them.The 11.5" is from the top of the blade to the bottom of the handle. I was hoping that they would be 11.5" handle (from blade bottom is 9 3/4"). 3/4" handle.Blade is a little longer than listed, the outside handle to blade tip is 6 1/4" and inside is just under 5.5".
